Default Probe max speed

I have this in 720p HD if anyone is interested

Probe GT max speed, has intake, headers, Greddy exhaust, lots of other bolt ons.

From the HD version it appears to peg the needle at 140. Notice no other vehicles are on the road, I had to wait for traffic to pass before attempting this. After 120 it's all over the road and I have to fight with the steering wheel to keep it pointed straight, which I think is an alignment / tire problem because it used to not do this.

I'd like to see the speedometer, Its pretty black in that video. Without knowing the speed, it just looks like your a terrets patient tring to drive (I also didn't have the sound on)

Get that steering tightend up man. My '70 Skylark didn't even do that at 130. Was crazy 17 at the time and had to wait for trafic to pass me by as well...hehe oh the times I had in that car.

I also want to see your speedometer, plus your rpm gauge. Your first few shifts looked sloppy.

It's not a mechanical fault (other than the nut holding the steering wheel), it's just going too fast for the road surface

I will agree with those thoughts - how fast were you going at the crossroads you hit at 51 seconds remaining? Looking at that you would have less than a second to react to anyone coming in from the right or left - probably some old duffer wearing a hat, expecting no-one to be doing more than 50mph, and probably with the skills and reaction time to cope with someone doing half that.

Still, recording your runs will make it easy for the coroner to record a verdict - cause of death: driving like a c**t

Wow @ all the hate in this thread

I take my time shifting on speed runs because these transmissions are not fun to replace, I had to do one already.

This road has NO side streets, the crossroad I went past is almost 4 miles long and you can see if a car is coming from the right well before it even gets there, the left side is a dead end. The only thing I would be worried about doing this in this time of day is a stray cow in the road but I would see that and have plenty of time to slow down.

I don't do this **** on any other roads, I know better.

I'll have to upload the HD version for you nitpickers about speed, and if you don't believe this car goes that fast, look at my sig. The tach is off by about 1000rpm, so 7000rpm reads like 6000.

You don't get it.
You are going to kill yourself which for me I would think would be better off than ending up a quadraplegic and moving back into your mom's house so she can feed you Gerber baby food or she can buy a nice blender to Puree your food because you forgot how to chew and have the mind of a 2 year old because you were being selfish and not thinking of the consequences of driving at that extreme speed thinking " I can handle this, it's cool"
First thing I thought when I saw the post J-Dogg was " gd d00d , don't kill yourself just to get on you tube."
I'm not hating d00d I just don't want you taking up dead space sitting in a chair drooling while your dad is swearing to himself so noone can hear because he fvk!n just loathes to change your diapers at your age all because you wanted to go fast.
I've know you a while man just don't want to see that is all and my post is wayyy to long.
Then End.

You'll learn.... The only place for speeding is on a race track, that's why they make them.

Want to show off to the chicks at the beach do ya? Want to race that car you've spent lots of money and time in do ya? Well you'll hit a patch of sand on the road and go skidding and roll that pride of joy, and you'll end up w/ back problems, high insurance, and no ride to work.

No, because it will make my top speed look like bicycle speed

Pfffttt - I was just trying to point out that at those sort of speeds on a public road, one little mistake (yours or anyone else's), something breaks on the car, or you hit anything much bigger than a rabbit, and blip - you're dogmeat.

... or I should say, dogg-meat.

I know of whence I speak - a lot of friends & people I knew didn't make it out of their late teens or early twenties, no doubt they all thought they were highly skilled, nothing was going to break, and no-one else would be using that bit of road either.

One of the good things about having been as an arse myself - & survived - is you get to pontificate about these things

140mphs nothing to write home about anyway

I had a mate who was driving like a c0ck at speeds upwards of 100mph, he hit a small pot hole, crashed into a tree, and died. The passenger, also a close friend, was in a wheel chair for nearly 9 months afterwards, and the two in the back were severly traumatized.

I just can't be impressed with people speeding on public roads, but Id love to see some track runs in that clapped out Ford of yours

I have a few track run clips but the auto-focus keeps buggering up on them, but I'll clarify a few things here.

I NEVER race in the city, rarely ever on the freeway and only if there is no traffic ahead. My boss laughed at me when I got a speeding ticket a month ago because I have a reputation for driving exactly the speed limit in my work van (they have GPS), this is the only road I do this on, and I don't do it if I have passengers.

Needless to say I have some suspension issues to iron-out before next trackday.

Well, this is a productive use of petrol.

You could at least make a big-ass bonfire or spell out some words and light them so planes can see it.

You are obviosly not from the USA. Let me spell it out for you. We like cars. We like fast cars. I myself have a car with over 500hp. When I want to get out and go fast, I go fast. If this is a waste of "petrol" to you, then have fun on your bicycle. I, in the meantime, will spend my money as I please and burn my "petrol" as I feel like.

God forbid I go back to the track for a day and burn 3 tanks of gas again.....this guy might have a heart attack....

God bless the USA and our cheap gasoline

Even if it was 6 or 8 dollars a gallon I would still go to the track, and a lot of your racing fuels are well over 7 dollars a gallon already.
