| I pretty much just got this truck and it has a couple issues that im getting worked out. The main one that i cannot figure out is when the truck is between 2000-5000 RPMs, I will hear a single screech for no more than a second. I have noticed that it happens a lot when i let off the gas at those rpms though around the 2500-3500 RPM range, it will screech as i am driving. I, myself, am thinking it could be the serpentine belt and i am going to rule that out by replacing it. Is there any other things i could give a try if this does not work? What else could make a "belt screech" for a split second at those RPMs? Like is said, this is not a long screech and i cannot get it to happen EVERY time (which is why i think its the belt) but it drives me nuts that i cant test it because it seems like it happens more when the truck in under a load. Thanks in advance for any advice. | ||

| Apex Advanced Techie | Is it a slush box or a manny. Edit: strike that i checked the manuals it probably your belt, its most likely glazed or damages, its not to hard or expensive to replace. Ill check into more details, but yea check your belts. Last edited by .insane; 17-February-08 at 10:22 AM.. | |

| Apex Advanced Techie | The belt is probably slipping. Check the belt for wear, good tension and check the tensioner (if it has one) for springiness. Also check the belt driven accessories as they can wear out and cause excess drag on the belt. Get it looked at before it comes apart. | |

| funny story here guys.... ever since i went mudding and got stuck in water up to just below the doors, the belt has not slipped one time..... i guess the water getting on the belt cleaned it. Anyways, thats no longer in my book of worries, but now i think i have worse problems (started before i ever took this thing off road) is that i have a lifter that isnt holding its prime..... i myself do not want to replace it cause, for a lack of better terms, im lazy. I am going to be taking it to the place where i bought it and getting them to replace the belt, the ABS pump and possibly the lifters under warranty :-D. Wish me luck. | ||
