Default My Neon (Sleeper build)

This is my 98 dodge neon...

Mods:
-DOHC 2.0L stock block engine
-3.94 (low geared) tranny
-Crane 16s w/ crane springs
-AEM cam gears
-P/T Cruiser Lifters + rockers
-filled motor mounts
-Custom CAI
-Apexi SAFC
-60mm MPx TB
-Mopure STS w/ bling option
-Booger bushings
-TTi Longtube ceramic coated
-summit open cutout
-Magnaflo cat
-2.5" dynomax exhaust
-Remote Quicktime cutout after header
-upgraded grounds
-Mopar Performance ECU
-MPx Underdrive Pulley
-Port and polished intake manifold
-Removed waterneck from intake
-Cowl induction hood mod
-Radiator to intake manifold shield
-fuel rail insulation
-Vitor's DOHC spacer (increase plenum volume)
-Slighly opened intake ports on head
-Head milled .030"
-Vitor's Bobble strut (neongoodies.com)
-Teflon Crankscraper system
-Rota Slipstreams w/ Falken Zeix 205/50/15
-~350lbs weight reduction

Thus far, I have run 14.4 @ 96.9MPH on street tires (2.26 60') @ 2700' elevation and no cam tuning. To keep it as stock looking as possible, the only true exterior mod was the wheels (which arnt that noticeable). Under the hood, the header and intake manifold were painted black. The exhaust out the rear was painted black (and is a stock-looking muffler). Even the interior is stock looking (with the exception of the short throw shifter and knob, which I plan to powder coat/paint black)

I still have quite a few more mods to go because I get low 13's N/A like I want, but im getting closer.

To me, this looks like the spam with the domain pictures.

Either way, at least its not a Cavalier.

Nope, not spamming. Not selling it (and I doubt anybody would want to buy it... nobody has love for a neon... hence the sleeper effect )

I almost bought a sleeper neon with 300BHP.

It had almost everything you have there, just a turbo kit with stage 2 from mopar themselves.

I rolled an 03' SXT 5 times once, and now have a 05' SXT, saving up for the SRT-4.

Sweetness. I was going to buy an SRT-4, but walked away with an 04 SXT instead. Thats my daily driver. I use my first gen for fun Just a note though: a 1st gen neon w/ an SRT-4 engine (or any well-built engine for that matter) will beat an SRT-4 in every aspect, from insurance, performance, etc... Except for respect. Dont get a whole lot of that

just as a suggestion, turn the wheels away from the camera next time ... wheels look much better than tire tread, regardless of how agressive the tread is.

otherwise ... I'm all for sleepers ... i don't know if I could drive a neon, though, personally. nice car, though

Hey thanx I used to drive a Nissan Pulsar. Fun car, VERY unreliable engine. Wish I could have done some good modding in its day on the suspension. Maybe in the future.

...all that, and it's still a neon

I can't talk though - I'm sure it would beat my Ford Pornstar...
