| Well the regulars here probably remember me but I don't post on here as much as I used to, partly because I have been consumed with my dayjob of contributing to the spiralling downfall of society by installing and maintaining cable TV, and as a result of excellent pay of doing so, this. ![]() ![]() It's a 1994 Ford Probe GT. Btw I just have to show off this pic ![]() Current mods are a 2.5" exhaust, 11lb Unorthodox Racing flywheel, ACT Stage 2 clutch, RR racing motor mount inserts, and a Jegs battery relocation kit. I'm doing a complete engine rebuild for a turbo and already I have amassed a few mods. ![]() ![]() ![]() This is a set of J-Spec KLZE heads. They flow better, and have more aggressive cams, but I'm getting a set of custom turbo regrinds. The best part about them is that they have only 30,000 miles on them. Japanese government mileage taxes FTW. I also picked up an intercooler. ![]() Here are my turbo hotpipes. I'm going to get them either ceramic coated or wrapped, not too sure yet. It uses Hotshot primaries. ![]() Oil pan with tap for oil return for turbo (I know the fitting is too small I'm going to upgrade it and most likely on a different oil pan too) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This was what my car looked like coming back from Orlando where I picked up a TON of Probe parts, all tested and working, and the transmission is good. the Tranny alone was worth more than what I paid for it all. ![]() 39 dollars at a junkyard = $299 Mazda remanufactured distributor (the only one worth getting) ![]() And this is what my garage looks like now. I'm building it for 500+ hp, it will get a completely forged bottom end. I already got a factory forged crank going for me. The transmission will get cryotreated and shotpeened and it will get the 4-cyl base Probe 5th gear, because it is taller, and the Mazda MX6 4.11 final drive (You would think the GT would get a taller 5th because the V6 has more torque and power) BTW for those wondering yes I still do the PC thing infact I have a small case mod project in the works as well, a successor to the Gateway mod, a Version 2.0. | ||

| I thought about a ball-bearing gt35r, but the hotpipes I have are welded for a T3/TO4e hybrid, and I have the opportunity to get a spanking new one for dirt cheap, and it isn't an ebay turbo either. Also installed my test pipe (cat-delete) holy crap no wonder the neighbors can't sleep at night | ||

if you have a T3 flange you can run any T3 flanged turbo you want cause it seems like you don't have the FMIC piping sorted, leaving room for turbo selection to as big as you can fit in the space the GT35R will be better for hitting 500 horse while being in it's efficiency range (and can be had with T3 flange), a T3/T04E will crap itself trying to make 500 horse

| I do have the piping sorted, its a matter of buying the material. The turbo sits where the battery was, and once you install a battery relocation kit in one of these cars, it opens up a buttload of room for just about anything, even an Eaton M90. I already h ave the battery relocation kit installed, it iwll also need a set of slimline fans to make room for the pipe leading to the IM. It comes up from the left at the bottom runs the length of the block and makes two 45* turns before it hits the IM. At least that's the most popular setup, the 626 MPS concept used the same configuration. | ||

| Some stuff on ebay. eBay - 94 ford probe gt, Parts Accessories, eBay Motors items on eBay.com= Smoke bumper lights. eBay Motors: 93 94 95-98 FORD PROBE GT/SE SMOKE BUMPER LIGHTS LEN (item 200097610990 end time Apr-09-07 21:13:28 PDT) Sleepy eye mod would be cool. Mod the headlight mechanism to only partially open. Last edited by Seyeklopz; 08-April-07 at 05:33 PM.. | ||

| I don't like the smoke tail lights, the 93 - 94 lights look best. I think the smoked look is kind of ricey. I do have the 95+ "swirlies" offered on the GT, but I wished I had the OEM chrome swirlies. I don't really want to do anything visually, except necessary bodywork and dent removal, and Ferrari 550 Maranello-style headlights (Probe guys call them 300zx headlights but they look more like the 550) A lot of guys like the 95+ tails, I prefer the 93-94. The sleepy-eye mod does look pretty cool, there are a few of them on Probetalk, I am most likely going with either that or the 550 Maranello-style. Might throw some Teins on it but that's about it for appearance. No need for some gaudy ricer wing or body kit or graphics. | ||

| damn, most love ive ever seen put into a probe...nice do you know what turbos do to gas milage? i was thinking of installing one but i dunno if itll make my car too expencive to drive also what does the fly wheel and stage 2 clutch do...my clutch is really annoying and stiff...would getting a new clutch make that better? | ||

turbo's usually drop mpg slightly, but if you're plopping a turbo onto a NA motor, make sure its up to the task first ... most NA motors run a high compression ratio, while turbos usually run a lower one and let the turbo raise it with the boost. (hence why jdogg rebuilt the whole thing - stronger bottom end that can handle the boost pressure) odds are, any street/track clutch is going to make it more annoying / finnicky (stage 1, street; stage 2, street/track; stage 3, racing - usually) if you're having problems with a stock one. ...but I'm just regurgitating, can't speak from experience. Anyone care to correct me? I'm sure I probably goofed somewhere in there... and am all for learning. ![]()

Well, we are in the pimp rides section after all!! AND the probe was actually originally designed to replace the mustang. Hence the ugly ass mustangs back in the late 80's when the probes first came out...So the probe was not designed as an economy car...

| Wow I forgot I posted this. As of now this car is broke down in my driveway it seems like right after I praise it for being such a fun car everything breaks on it so I am most likely picking up an RX-7 and finding another one of these that hasn't been touched, or one that has been ridiculously worked, they pop up from time to time on probetalk. It's a fun car but I'm getting sick of dumping all my money into parts to keep it running when I could be using that money for hop-ups and upgrades. | ||
