Question game "vid" running at "hyper" speed

Hello all, first time poster here. I am currently running an Abit nf-m2 mobo with 2g of Corsair dual channel ram, along with an Nvidia 7900 gs card, 2 350g SATA hdd's and Windows XP Pro. I have had this up and running for a month now. Suddenly a few days ago, the video on games(Transformers, MS Flight Sim 04, Resident Evil 4, Armed & Dangerous, 3 Splinter Cells and Doom 3) started running at super speed. The audio was normal, just everything else ran ultra fast.

I tried reinstalling them all. I removed several new things that I had installed lately. Checked drivers and such. Even did a couple of system restores to MUCH earlier dates to hopefully resolve this problem, with no luck. Absoultely nothing else on the machine seems to be affected except the games.
I have installed the games on another machine with an ECS board with on board nvidia 6100 graphics 1 g of ram and the games run fine. I am considering a reformat at this point.

Any suggestions on what the problem is and how I can resolve this.

Dude, your computer is just too fast.

No really, I've seen this happen and the only thing I could figure out was a reformat. Though, you might try out the nvidia driver cleaner and install fresh drivers as a next-to-last resort.

By super fast I mean it is like hitting the 16x fast forward on a movie you are watching. The audio remains normal, but everything else is speed up. I DO religiously maintain my machines, and I have tried the everything mentioned so far EXCEPT the reformat. That I will do tomorrow, if no one else has any other ideas that I have yet to consider. thanx so far guys!!!!
