Opinion on a Case

I'm planning to upgrade my box with all-new hardware. I'm stuck on a decision between two cases: the Antec Solo (black two-tone twin of the P-150) and the Lian Li PC-7B. I wanted to get your opinions.

What do you think? Or can you think of a better similarly-price black or two-tone black/grey case?

Personally I like Lian Li better than Antec, but both are good cases. Did you check PCA to see if either had been reviewed? That is always a good place to start.

Not yet -- I wanted to try the forum first because in a forum you can get constructive arguments.

(Just checked and I didn't see either of them there.)

There was a bloody good reason to have the same case. Nothing can beat these $28 wreckers-of-mayhem.

I would go with the Lian-Li, Build quility on that case is to perfection. Solid design that they have improved on for the past....what... 5 years?

You should google for reviews on the net to make your final choice. Good Luck

I'm with Foe and Lokie - Lian Li. Not just because Lian Li makes a great product (they do), but also because the Lian Li has 2x120mm fans (intake and exhaust) as opposed to only 1x120mm on the Antec. I honestly prefer 120mm case fans to any others, and i just don't think a single case fan is going to cut it with the heat that today's rigs produce...i could be wrong, but i just forsee cooling issues with the Antec based on the lack of a second case fan.

I personally like silverstone, they have the same high quality cases.

lian li cases just scream quality....

antec cases... over the years have just gotten worse...

Pah, fine you can buy the Lian-Li as long as you mark it in some fashion to make it different from mine

The first thing I usually do is strip everything from it and paint the inside of a new case. What color is the LL?

It's a brushed black aluminum - looks really nice. The inside is clean silver metal.

If you head over to Kikboxes Custom Computer Craft, you will find the ModJitsu case, a painted and slightly modded Lian-Li PC7 case. It looks great and it's up on eBay right now, awaiting the winning bid.

Foe Apex Tech God	Personally I like Lian Li better than Antec, but both are good cases. Did you check PCA to see if either had been reviewed? That is always a good place to start.
