| Apex Techie Wannabe | I would properly introduce myself in the introduction forum but I can't find it-lol Anyway-I stumbled across this forum looking for some answers on gaming and controllers in general. I'm an old school guy and hardly ever play any games but as I have alot of free time now I would like to get into it. I am 50 and retired trucker. I have lots of time to try out the games I have and others. A friend of mine helped me pick out some games a couple of years ago but I have not really spent any time with them. I have GUN for PC and Ps2. So' excuse my ignorance on games and controllers but I have a few questions that may seem lame to you guys. OK-here goes- 1. I have 2 wirelss controllers made by NYKO- and I use them for the P2P-I use them on GUN- can they be used on the PC as well? Can they be interchanged or is that possible.? Reason I ask is that I also have gun for PC and need a game pad. I'm just now finding out that the pads and the games don't line up very well-I have another pad-Microsoft Sidewinder that won't do anything with GUN- so' I bought another game pad from Walmart today and it works a little but most of the control buttons don't work. It's a Game Elements Retractable Game Pad-nice lights but most of it dosen't work. 2. I have the PC game The Godfather and can find no game pad that will work with it-Neither one of these will do anything with that game.Any ideas? 3.I have the MOMO Steering Wheel and it works fine for the pc game Nascar but will it work for the PS2? If not, is there some kind of modification to make it work with both systems?I'm new at this stuff but it just seems like such a waste to have to buy seperate controllers for the same game. Now, I also have the Saitek-Cyborg Evo Force and have only used it for the Windows Flight Sim-Can that controller be used on any other games besides flight games? It has some great sound effects lol!-Jumps around all over the place-what's a good game to use it on?-I will be taking this new game pad back to Walmart because it won't work on these two games but is there another, better pad that you would recommend that will work on most PC games out there? This hit and miss thing is not good-any help for a rookie would be great-Thanks Rob-Vancouver Wa. | |

| Hey there, welcome aboard. Typically, any the Microsoft Xbox360 controller works with just about any game in windows now. I would assume the same for GUN. If you get one get a wired one, otherwise you'll have to get a wireless dongle for it. As for the Nyko controllers, I'm not totally sure (cause i don't know which one you have) but I don't think you can use them for the PC unless there is a device driver, or if its generic. For the MOMO wheel, probably doesn't work for the PS2, even though it probably connects through USB. Nothing wrong with giving it a shot though. Sorry, I don't know of any mods that would allow you to do it. Once again, nice to see a new face. | ||

| I'm no expert in this stuff or anything, but I know that there are PS2 to PC gamepad converters. However, I don't know how well they work and I suspect it's kind of a jerry-rig, so I wouldn't expect much better than that Wal-Mart purchase you made. I've heard an xbox 360 controller is great for PCs. I also have a logitech Wingman 2 wireless rumble thingie that's really good though I wish the sticks stuck out JUST a little bit less. Otherwise it's great and hassle-free As for your saitek, I know I've used an older cyborg for space sims, but that might still be a flight sim. I'm not really sure why you'd WANT to use it for any other sort of game, but I'd imagine your computer would think of it in the same way as a gamepad. Try it out! | ||

| The XBOX 360 controller is a wonderful addition to any PC gamers library of accessories. It is very well built and doesn't feel like a 'toy' like a lot of other PC game pads do. but, for your specific Nyko controllers, I'm sure this would work fine... BTW - Welcome to GameApex!! | ||
