COD4 Cross platform in mp?

A buddie of mine is running COD4 for his xbox, I have it on the pc. Does anybody know if there are any cross platform capabilities for online play. We are both still working through single player but wanted to know once finished if the multi-player was possible. Thanks for any help.

I don't think so, it isn't "LIVE ENABLED" for windows is it?

The only game I know of that is cross platform is Shadowrun... I don't believe COD4 is.

I searched all over the box and the included paperwork and couldn't find anything about "live enabled" or any reference to be able to play cross platform. What a bummer.

Gears of War should be LIVE Enabled as well...

I haven't heard or seen anything that would indicate that CoD4 is, though, sorry.

No it won't and here is what the guys from Call of Duty said about it. IGN: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare AU Interview

IGN AU: You mentioned earlier that you actively rejected Microsoft's Live Anywhere strategy. How the hell did they take that? Were they edgy about it?

Grant Collier: We said no and they didn't call back.

IGN AU: (laughs) So what were the discussions like?

Grant Collier: Our rep left us a message saying 'hey, want to talk about this, Live Anywhere, it's big, it's cool', and I thought, well yeah, if you're playing online poker, but who wants to be playing an RTS on a console and have some guy on a PC clicking and dragging all his troops, attacking your base while you're sitting there with your thumb sticks. So I think for FPSs and RTSs, no way, but for, y'know, card games or Tetris or something like that. There are games that I think it's cool for, but there are other games where I don't think there's any point. So they just didn't respond.

IGN AU: That was it huh?

Grant Collier: Yeah, we just said no way.

IGN AU: Do you get the vibe that they're not pushing as hard for that kind of feature these days?

Grant Collier: No, just that maybe they wouldn't apply the same pressure on us that they would other developers.

Funny thing is, it originally was slated to be LIVE enabled....but when it finally was put to the shelf there was nothing LIVE about it.....it would truely help out the 360's version because that game is dieing out now and people are moving on. But the new PC customers are still strong at playing it.

I am sure by now, you know it is not cross platform capable. One reason that sticks in my mind for this other than the dev's saying no, is that the PC version will be/and is moddable. The console versions are not other than what may be released by the dev's. Sorry to say the console gamers will not get to enjoy custom made maps and game types.

I wouldn't want it to be cross-platform capable. It's been said many times before, but the keyboard/mouse combo just destroys console controllers when it comes to fast-twitch playing like multiplayer FPSs.
