Default Bioshock Copy Protection Fix Released

Put simply, the BioShock Activation Revoke Tool will allow you to install and uninstall your game as many times as you want on a single system as long as there are no significant hardware changes. I know - it's hardly ideal, but at least it's there.

Better?

I have to say that this would still be unacceptable. What about the gaming freaks which upgrade their computer more often than they change underwear? Forcing you to jump through hoops just to play a game is BS.

I didn't jump through any hoops. Who cares, anyone who wanted to play it already has.

Besides, the game was pretty shallow anyways.

With Steam it doesn't seem to matter.

Also other information - I noticed the latest nvidia drivers (not beta) for my 8800 helped performance majorly. Made it so that with vsync there are absolutely no drops in FPS from 60 at any time. Same with Quake Wars.

I would assume with Steam, you've bought it through a secure fashion. Therefore it doesn't really matter how many hardware changes have happened because, presumably you're the only one who knows your Steam information and you can only have one instance of your steam id logged in at one time. This is why I like services like Direct 2 Drive and Steam, because it removes those issues of copy write protection. Though it is rather stupid that if get a whole new system, I have to somehow reprove I bought the game.

Christ, can you imagine in a few years when you buy a CD and can only listen to it on one stereo or something?

It's so SO stupid. Where will it end?

That is far to extreme, and I imagine the CD will die out before that happens.

DRM is dying already, with Apple's DRM free tracks.

Now look at it.

I mean damn... You buy a playstation game, it doesn't only play on one playstation. You can't only play your DVD on one DVD player, or with your PSP, Game Cube, or Xbox. Yet you buy an OS or a PC game that will only last through 1 significant hardware upgrade?

Ugh... don't ever underestimate someone's desire to thieve every last penny from your pocket.

That is extreme to the level of stupidity. The Market in itself would NEVER, and I repeat NEVER let that happen. Competition wise it would create one product for one company, consumerism would be at a standstill with confusion of what to buy.

I don't know anything about the smoking ban in England, but smoking is different from the consumer products we're talking about. Smoking kills people, a X360 game in a X360 isn't (Under normal circumstances).

SecurRom isn't thieving from our pockets, its trying to keep people from thieving from theirs.
