Anyone else playing this? I grabbed it off FilePlanet today in a fit of excitement, and yeah, it's not bad. It's very clearly still a BETA though - textures don't load properly sometimes and my FPS drops through the floor in random places...but it looks promising for the final game. Graphics are lovely, but not incredible. Weapons are nice. Vehicles are fun. My favourite touch is the groups of crabs and turtles you'll see wandering along the shorelines...it's very realistic.

I get some nonsense about my system being under the requirements when I try. Really? 2x7600GTs, X2 4400+, 2gigs of ram?

They were gone instantly!

Got my beta key, they were available to registered free users for about 4/5 hours before they ran out and switched it to paying subscribers.

Reflux said it all really, beautiful graphics, nice realism touches, but plenty of incorrectly loaded textures, shaders and objects, but yeah very promising for the full game

Yup, this is a very demanding game. I was getting stalling, broken textures and complete lockups on my 8800GTS. I turned everything down to medium and now it's working absolutely fine. I hope the final game is a bit more optimised.

So I hear, but the estimated requirements I've seen put me well within the playability zone. I'm not required to have an 8 series card am I?

FilePlanet traditionally set the hardware requirements very high for BETA versions - I had that when I got the ET:QW BETA. It's just to make 100% sure any issues people experience aren't hardware related.

I'm actually considering sticking some stuff on low now...even with everything on medium, no AA, 1680x1050, I'm only getting 20-30fps. And that's with an overclocked 8800GTS. Obviously the resolution puts a heavy load on it but still, Bioshock runs fine maxed out, and I wouldn't say Crysis looks significantly better.

I think the answer is; wait and see. The final game should be a lot more streamlined.

Says with a free account I can get crysis open beta. I answer some questions, it says I pass screening, and then puts me through to subscription sign up....wtf?

These NDA agreements seem rather stupid if you ask me. It's like they're trying to keep the game a secret or something.

The free open BETA keys ran out about a week ago lol.

Hopefully they optimized the crap out of it. Hopefully they hired some guys from Epic, because UT3 runs like butter and looks amazing, even on my low range pc.

Definatly not me. Even if they lowered the sys. reqs. considerably I still wouldn't even have enough hard drive space. :<
