Default Crysis Demo-- 9/25

Link

Quote:
EA and Crytek revealed today on its official Crysis website that a single player demo will be released on September 25 (also the day that Halo 3 hits the Xbox 360). The demo will consist of the entire first level in Crysis’ single player campaign, “Contact,” giving gamers first-hand chance to experience the open-ended level design and a chance to put their PC hardware to the test.
Even with the game’s nearing release, the developers have yet to announce official system requirements. From what the developers have let on, though, it is estimated that the lowest-spec PC that will run Crysis will consist of:
CPU: Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8ghz
Graphics: Nvidia 6600/X800GTO (SM 2.0)
RAM: 768Mb/1Gb on Windows Vista
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 256k+
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP
With the recommended system expected to be:
CPU: Dual-core CPU (Athlon X2/Pentium D)
Graphics: Nvidia 7800GTX/ATI X1800XT (SM 3.0) or DX10 equivalent
RAM: 1.5Gb
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream)
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX10 with Windows Vista
Following the completion of the demo, gamers will have a seemingly long wait for the release of the full game. Crysis is set to simultaneously release in retail stores in North America and Europe on November 16, 2007.

A demo needs 6GB of space? Or are those the requirements for the game itself?

Well this demo has some majorly awesome graphics.

The average demos of today are about 1.2 gigs.

Just imagine the textures in there!

Can't wait. Better than a Halo 3 release

It'll be 6GB for the demo, definitely. The most advanced games at the moment take up 10GB+, so Crysis being the poster child of them all, it is not going to require a mere 6GB.

Maybe they will have some great compression, a la Halo...but, that's likely a bit too much to ask from game makers these days...

Bioshock was less than 6 gigs :/

The demo won't be anywhere near 6 gigs.

It looks to me like they're talking about the actual game. 6GB for a demo is crazy.
