Meh...IMO, they've completely screwed this whole thing up. I grabbed my BETA key a month ago, played the game loads and have got a bit bored with it. Now I heard they've delayed it until September and it irritates me. There's no reason they couldn't have released it in June; the BETA was basically the finished product as far as I could see.

Dangit. Subscribers only. Second time I've missed out on it. Oh well I guess I'll wait for September.

It's the second beta. More fixes, changes, and a new map.

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Aug 03, 2007 -- Gamers in attendance at QuakeCon 2007 were rewarded with a special announcement when id Software and Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq:ATVI) unveiled that Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars(TM) Windows PC will be on EU store shelves on September 28, 2007 and North American store shelves beginning October 2, 2007. The game, which is in development by Splash Damage, pits the armies of Earth's Global Defense Force (GDF) against the invading alien Strogg in the multiplayer strategic shooter that transports players to the front lines of an epic new war for Earth.

Offering the ultimate in objective-based multiplayer action either online or offline with bots, Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars is set within the expansive QUAKE(R) universe in the year 2065. Gamers choose to play as the human GDF or alien Strogg in one of five unique character classes. Employing an arsenal of weapons, vehicles and deployable armaments, players engage in an action-packed test of skill and coordinated teamwork through a series of combat objectives. Persistent character growth and achievements reward players for teamwork, while clearly defined mission and class objectives guide new players to meaningful contributions on the battlefield.

Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars is also in development for the Xbox 360(TM) video game and entertainment system from Microsoft (Nerve Software) and the PLAYSTATION(R)3 computer entertainment system (Activision Foster City).

Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars has been rated "T" for Teen by the ESRB.

You're not telling me they actually need until September to finish this game? FFS, it was supposed to be out last year for crying out loud.

Nice to see though that for once European gamers don't get shafted regarding the release date. It's a British game, so we get it before you :p

I honestly don't think it will be that big of a loss.

It's a pretty good game.

Though they still have the animations locked at 30fps. There are still a few lag issues, and the overall play is a choppy.

Hopefully they will have it running better before release. Any performance boost is welcome, otherwise, I'll just get a 360.

I got in Beta 2 without being a subscriber. It's a really fun game, but there are some obvious balance issues. The framerate is indeed still locked at 30fps, but it doesn't really matter. The irritating thing about this game is that certain attacks kill you so fast you aren't even able to see what the hell happened (much less see it coming). For example, the Vampire artillary on the Strogg side is an instant kill and theres very little chance that you'll see it at all.
