| Banned | Anyone other than me an yunk playing it? So far, I think it's fun. I spent most of my time experimenting with the different character classes, which all have pretty broad and unique attributes. My favorite classes so far are the Constructors and the Oppressor's. I enjoy both classes mostly because those two classes are the ones that build defensive structures. The Oppressor builds mortar's, each of which do differnet amounts of damage, and different warm-up periods. The map in the beta, and the only map in the beta is Sewers. The Strogg are defending, and trying to stop the GDF from constructing an EMP disruptor. It's very much like the Assualt game mode in UT2k4. The map is sized very well IMO. It isn't too big so that it takes you forever to get to an area, and it isn't too small to where things are cramped. Nothing like the massive maps in BF2. The beta runs fairly well on my system, 7600gt, Opteron 148, 1 gig of ram, with the game running on Vista. I can easily run the game with all settings maxed, and it is a pretty game. There's loads of eye candy to be had, wether it be the heat waves emitting from the bottom of tanks, of the massive lazer that can be deploy'd by sattelite to reak havoc with. I havn't encountered and lag problems, and the only bugs I have encountered is that it has locked up three times so far. Well, time to go play some more. | |

| I have the beta as well...but my computer plays it like piss... More than likely it's my video card that's holding it back...For *MY SYSTEM* the game looks terrible...but, I know it's because of my computer specs... AMD64 3000+ @ 2.02GHZ 2GB RAM Geforce6800 GT Windows Vista Ultimate | ||

| I've been playing it for the past week, and I love it. IMO, they've done really well - taking the format that the Battlefield franchise has popularised, and added a good pinch of spice for people who really can't be arsed trekking 16 miles to yet another missile silo/control point. It's definitely a very worthy follow up to Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. I used to play that loads. A few things niggle at me; for example the sound effects are poor, and you can't really pinpoint where fire is coming from because of this. Also, what is point of a friends list if there isn't a 'join your friend on server' option? Favourite classes so far: soldier and covert ops. I like having a machinegun at my disposal, and being able to plant explosives is especially useful on the map available. Also, being Strogg covert ops and flying that camera bomb is sweet...and I love dressing up as GDF and being all sneaky :sneaky: I can usually be found skulking around the i3D and Rackage EU servers, so if you see me give me a shout. I've preordered the game and reserved my handle, so if y'all see a dude called reflux pwning all, that's me ![]() | ||
