These are cute, and help pass time, but some people are pretty serious into this site.
NeoPets

This is a game maker, so you can even make your own game.

I don't got the link but maybe someone else has it for the site that has all of the old games on it after the company stops producing them. I know all the doom and doom 2 era games are on there free to download but can't remember the name.

Found another free cool game for download. From Strategy Informer and it's called Sauerbraten, of all things.

Sauerbraten is multiplayer/singleplayer FPS game free game project, and soon an RPG game project. The sourcecode for the engine used in these games is Open Source.:afro:

http://www.kumagames.com/

They have some interesting games. Most of their stuff uses the Source engine. Kuma\War looks cool -- it's based on actual conflicts and they release a new one each month. The newest conflict was the recent blasting of Zarqawi.

You're welcome!

How could I forget my new favorite pastime?! :loser: You have to try Plasma Pong. It's a prerequisite for your continued existence.:geek:

Plasma Pong is a twist on the original. Your paddle now can spew out jets of plasma that affect the way the ball moves. It can also create a vacuum effect that disrupts current plasma channels. All this adds an entirely new feel on the timeless classic. (If I were a commerical, you would now read the phrase "But wait ... there's more!")

You have not had a psychodelic experience :afro: until you have experienced Plasma Pong's Sandbox mode. You get to just play with the plasma. Seriously, try this when you're tired, drunk, bored, or any other slightly off mood. :issues: It's amazing. I while away the boring hours at work with this thing.:dopey:

Next time you're bored, go download it and try it out. :twocents: The whole download weighs in at just 7.41MB.

Tremulous is a free FPS. It is based on the Quake 3 engine, which was recently opened up. The premise is pretty neat. If you've ever played Natural Selection, this is was NS was based off of. Aliens vs. Humans. The aliens have some pretty cool stuff, such as the ability to wall climb. Let me tell you, orientating yourself on a ceiling lined with pipes is an aquired skill ...

Come on people, I'm sure you all have free games that you play! I guess I'll just have to start posting one free game a day, to boost excitement/interest ...

For today's installment of free PC games, we go to an interesting space shooter called Clash N Slash. While not the most exciting game, it does offer a few hours of fairly difficult play. There are 5 weapon types, each with three power levels, and two dozen or so powerups for your planet and your ship.

As a note, thanks to Flapjack Peso, who showed me this game at our last LAN party.

Would you like to play some classic games such as Donkey Kong or Dragon's Lair in your browser? Check out Gaming Classics for your fix.

Second for today, in an attempt to make up for the absense.

This one is courtesy of Joystiq. Executive Suite is a game from 1982. It is text-based and based on being a worker in a company. You give it your information and then play until you get to be President of the Mighty Microcomputer Corporation -- or fail in your aspirations.

Anyway, you can read the Joystiq story or just go straight to the download, courtesy of MoneyMatador.com.

...Taking up Meta's slack for today (he's out of town, sorry folks):

The Battle for Wesnoth is a free (GPL) turn-based strategy RPG. If you liked Final Fantasy Tactics, you'll probably like this. Check it out - it's really cool. Plus, it runs on all major platforms.

I'm the quilted Meta-slack picker-upper (sorry for the horrible joke but I had to say it):

Today's game is Planeshift, a free (GPL) MMORPG set in a fantasy world. It runs on all three major platforms and the developers recently (this week in fact) released a new version of the application.

Today is Halo Zero, an interesting side-scroller based in the Halo universe.

Can't let Vert beat met that much ...

Second one for today is Pocket Tanks. It's a Worms-esque game that can cause ruin in a guys dorm. There's a shareware version that has the basic weapons, and then booster packs you can use with the pay-per version.
