| Apex Techie Wannabe | Super Mario War is the source for endless, ridculous amounts of fun. Currently it is single-player or multiplayer-on-the-same-computer. One of the most requested features is net play, so hopefully we'll see that in a future release. The premise of the game is like Super Smash Bros. The difference is that the only attack your character natively has is the traditional Mario jump. There are powerups that give you traditional Mario abilities, such as the fire flower or the Hammer Bros. hammers. With tons of different modes to play, you can keep yourself well entertained on virtually any computer. This game is distributed by GPL, so you can get the source and compile it for any computer. They also have xbins for play on an XBox. Go check it out now! (Once again, this game was shown to me by Vertical_Zer0.) | |

| Game! is a text and graphical based RPG which you can play right from your own browser. The graphics are hand drawn (in pencil, it would seem) but are still cool to see at least once. It's free and easy to sign up and login, plus you don't have to download anything! | ||

| Apex Techie Wannabe | (Sorry I've been lagging -- had my surgery today.) Maple Story (Global) is a side-scrolling MMORPG that has some promise to it. It's a bit repetitive, but has generally fun gameplay, especially once you hit level ~15 and start getting useful skills. It's originally made by a company called AsiaSoft, but the Global port is from a company by the name of Wizet. Be warned, the link needs to be traversed with Internet Explorer. The URL is www.mapleglobal.com if you don't use the MS browser. | |

| Apex Techie Wannabe | Armagetron Advance is a 3D Tron clone that runs on all 3 major platforms. It's a lot of fun and runs well on any newer machine. It has generally steady development and is well worth a look. | |

| Apex Techie Wannabe | Liquid War is an interesting game. It has won numerous awards from places such as the Linux Game Tome. It's hard to explain the gameplay, but I'll give it a shot. You're an icon who has a bunch of "liquid" particles following you. These particles are your "soldiers" and the objective of the game is to take over the other icons' troops. It's great fun -- I lost all of my free time in between class last semester due to it. Want another plus? It runs on DOS, FreeBSD, GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows. I mean come on, you have to give a game that still supports DOS a try. ![]() | |

| Apex Techie Wannabe | Gunbound is a Worms-esque game from Korean developer Softnyx. It's really a lot of fun and it's easy to lose hours to this game. The only real complaint I have about it is that the net code the developers wrote is probably the worst I have ever encountered. It's still a very playable game and I would suggest checking it out. | |

| I guess it's about time for another free PC game. This one is called Doom: The Battle for Mars. It's a Doom RTS which I find to be pretty nifty. | ||

That's a good one. It's a pretty technical and fairly realistic mod so it's really frustrating at first but it gets better once you get used to it. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
