compares to the king of thermal compounds... So let's just jump right into this review.

Hmm, nice 3 degrees less than AS5. Looking forward to another review to make me regret buying two tubes of AS5.

Considering AS5 can get you within 3 degrees of the theoretically perfect heat transfer number, I'm gonna call BS. 3 degrees is a HUGE improvement and quite unlikely with TIM alone. I've got a heater and air conditioning too, but I have never been able to keep a constant ambient temp when testing coolers.

Even in a temperature controlled environment, TIM testing is simply not something the average person can do accurately. I wouldn't even consider it. A bad mount can result in 3 degrees. A bit more or less pressure on the die can mean a degree. Testing water blocks and heatsinks using Lumiere and multiple mountings and closely checking ambient and die temps is difficult enough. Testing TIM's would take weeks with the varying burn in times.

And lastly, I've used the Thermalright compound. It is very good, but certainly not significantly better than AS5. It is more like Ceramique or Lumiere, it doesn't take a long burn in to work well. And it is less critical of a less than perfect mount. But 3 degrees? I don't think so.
