	PRINCIPAL Future Horizon analyst Malcolm Penn said in his latest monthly report that flash hard drives are set to spur the laptop market to unprecedented growth. But Penn cautions that even though people will pay a premium for the benefits such HDDs could provide, delays are not down to price points or capacities. He said: "In a laptop footprint, there is ample space to squeeze in a few dozen flash chips pre-assembled into a module. We feel it has more to do with the sheer number of access hits the drive has to execute and survive under a normal Windows day." On the semiconductor market generally, Penn said there is still considerable upside, although growth was 8.2 per cent year on year.
