Ultimately what will win people to the X1800 GTO is its stellar performance with AA and AF on, and its slightly more advanced feature set (Avivo, HDR+AA namely) in comparison to what NVIDIA offers. While the Sapphire card does not have the unlockable pipes that some brands are reported to have, it offers great framerates regardless in most games. It beats the 7600 GT in most games, although the 7600 wins in Half Life 2 and FEAR and Doom when there is no filtering. Once filtering is turned on however, the X1800 GTO trumps or matches the 7600 GT in almost any case. This card has 256MB of memory running at 600MHz (1200MHz effective) which is strange as the memory modules are the same 1.4ns Samsung parts that are on the nVidia 7600 GT and 7900 GT cards. These are technically rated to 715MHz despite only running at 600MHz, in fact on the nVidia cards we squeezed speeds as high as 915MHz out of them when overclocked - it's always good to know that you've got some headroom to play with. The core is running at 575MHz, compared to the 625MHz of an XT. Nvidia currently dominate the sub £200 price bracket with some clearly definable parts but ATI are fighting back with the Radeon X1900 GT, a card aimed squarely at Nvidia's superlative 7900 GT. The X1900 GT is based on the R580 graphic processor but with one of the four quads disabled thus making it a 36 pixel shader part. Considering this, can it really compete against the 7900 GT when it comes down to raw performance? Back on the 15th of May, NVIDIA shipped 7300GT GPUs to the Asian Pacific region only. However, this time they managed to surprise us. The 7300GT is not based on G72 architecture like its brother, the 7300GS. The 7300GT is based on G73, like the 7600 series, but with eight pipelines. A Few weeks later, many manufacturers launched their products and showed some amazing reference benchmarks of the 7300GT. These made us sit up and take notice. Like other G73/G72/G71 members, it is based on the 90 nanometer process. The original 7300GT design also included DDR2 memory, with the core clocked at 350MHz. However, a few manufacturers replaced it with GDDR3 memory, boosting the core clock speed as well. The BFG 7900 GT OC is a great performing video card for all types of gamers -- casual or hardcore. The GT has the power to get through any game currently available and should be able to continue to perform well in future games through all of 2006. Even though it only sports 256 MB of memory, the BFG 7900 GT OC was able to perform on par with, or better than, the ATI X1800 XT card that has twice as much memory. Radeon X1300 Pro is the top graphics chip inside the latest low-end graphics chip family from ATI. We’ve got a 256 MB sample for this model from HIS and in this review we will be comparing its performance to other low-end graphic chips, especially Radeon X300 and GeForce 6200, and also with some mid-range chips (GeForce 6600 and GeForce 6600 GT) to see how is the performance of this HIS video card. As ATI's current top videocard, the X1900XTX through testing and benchmarking can easily be seen as an extremely fast videocard and indeed the fastest we have ever tested here on Tweaknews.net. With all its advanced features and shader capabilities, purchasing this videocard will indeed give you the grunt to muscle your way through every current game along with many future games coming out this year. There is no doubt that this is the ATI based card to have for this generation. Over the past few months we have had the chance to look at a few video cards from HIS. These have all been solid cards, but the difference from one to the next was only a matter of change in the GPU. This time HIS has brought around an exciting new cooling solution, the IceQ3, and paired it with a great mid-range GPU. The X1800GTO has created a name for itself with enthusiasts. This model has been held in high regard for its great mix of price and performance as well as solid overclocking abilities. With HIS' new cooling thrown into the mix, this could be a really exciting product for those who are looking for a PCIe video card. Today we are going to introduce to you ATI Radeon X1800 GTO graphics solution that tends to be called the best from the $199-$249 price range. The newcomer has every reason to claim this prestigious title: it features 256bit memory bus and is built on the advanced R520 GPU with the limited number of units. How tense the battle between Radeon X1800 GTO and GeForce 7600 GT is going to be? We will answer this question in our article. The newcomer will be represented by PowerColor X1800 GTO. We usually look at the faster side of technology at t-break because that’s what excites us. However, these latest-greatest uber high-end top-of-the- line products make up less than 5% of the total components market. While budget products probably take the lion’s share, medium-end or mainstream products also contribute as a reasonably sized piece of the pie. Today, we take a look at one such product- the nVidia 7600GS graphics card by Pelit. Today I am reviewing Sapphire's Radeon X1800XT 512 MB DDR3 Graphics card. This card is of the first generation of ATI video card's to use Shader mark 3.0 and pixel shader 3.0. The card features only 16 pipe's, but don't let that fool you as the clock speeds on this card are very high. HIS has taken a very sound and successful base in the Radeon X1800 GTO and made it even better. The IceQ3 cooler aside from its killer aesthetics, operated at near silence under load. Performance wise, frame rates blew the doors off a one generation old midrange card which really demonstrates that the increase in technology seen on current VGA cards is not just marketing hype. It is real world frames per second performance that provides speed and just as importantly, a very high level of quality in the images it renders. Add in the ability to BIOS flash this 12 pipeline card to have a full 16 pipes, adds bang for the buck value I can't even begin to put a price on. Full Story at Overclocker Cafe' | | | | | | |
