Default Thermaltake Giant II VGA Heat Pipe Cooler

ThermalTake jumps on the heatpipe bandwagon with its own VGA cooler

"All the parts included in the kit are comprised of high quality
aluminum with the exception of the heat pipe itself, which is a nickel-plated copper tube. A 24-page instruction manual covers all the details of each component, basic heatsink installation, clip installation for NVIDIA and ATI based video cards, heat pipe installation and fan installation."

Nice review but is the heatpipe the way to go. I'm going water cooling. Thermaltake has always manufactured good products and the Heatpipe Giant 2 is an example. Thanks goat.

Smart He bought a Gainward card, with Memory Heatsinks, but PC toys ehhhh, that brand just scares me some times, I think I like the thermaltake more, it has a fan and looks pimp it would look even better if someone put EL Wire in the cracks of that thing. Question,.. Does a heat pipe work better then Water?

Do heat pipes work better than water ? Gernally not ...

Here's how a heat pipe works. A heat pipe transports heat from one point to another via a vacuum-sealed metal pipe. The pipe holds a liquid that usually contains 90% water, with the rest consisting of other special ingredients that optimize heat transfer.

the liquid is held under low pressure so that the evaporation temperature is about 30 degrees Celsius. Under cold temperatures, there's very little water in the pipe. The water evaporates only when the other end of the pipe comes into direct contact with the CPU, whereupon the heat is transported into the cold end of the pipe. This is usually where the pipe encounter the heatsink and cools off.... then the fluid returns to the cool side of the pipe. and so forth and so on.

Generaly this is not effective as watercooling.... though some of the advantages are it is eaiser to isntall (most of teh time) also it is safer ( in the aspect of a watercooling Explosion )

well unless your using some industrial size heat pipes... most good Watercooling systems will easly out perform them.

Like which ones? Does thermaltake make a Block for GPUs? Or would it be better to just build a custom water system.
