My results are a little different. I don't know how they could get an AMD rig that slow. The review should be up today and in it I have a slightly overclocked 1700+ against a 3.06 P4.

Wasn't surprising here since all the other reviews of the canterwood boards that also added a barton with an nForce2 board had shown how much faster the pentiums are; especially with the 875P chipset. This benchmark isn't exactly out of the norm because I've seen it before...the barton's aren't getting any better, especially when they are actually clocked even slower than standard AMD XP procs (noted in this review and the first reviews of the barton 3000). They really shouldn't have changed their notation of AMD processors in the barton series...makes them seem a lot slower although they are charging more.

didn't he start saying that when you compared a 1 ghz pentium to a 1 ghz amd, amd kicked its ass. Well this wasn't exactly taking a 2.2 p4 and comparing it to 3200. I understand that he was comparing the fastest available by both companies, but i would have liked to see how a 2.2 p4 stacks up against a 3200.

O, so the bartons aren't that good huh? Are they worth buying at all (I'm looking into saving some money to buy one in the next year).

I was just wondering if it was worth spending some money on a barton to replace my 2400 in my main rig. then i would take my 2400 and create a second rig with the spare parts i have laying around.
