I'm not so confident about a Google OS in 2 years. But it could happen. I could see them making a linux-based OS with a "For Dummies"-easy setup and driver install. But IMO it'd be a thankless, tough job. Thankless because an OS is like breathing: vital, but you only notice it when it gives you trouble. And tough, because I think the average user is reasonably happy with WinXP--something that couldn't be said with previous versions. But if they did, I'd definitely try it, given the quality and simplicity of their existing products!

So that leaves 2 choices in the near future..Linux or Google OS...

of course you could go with BSD or others..But who uses them anymore?

HOpefully, google will be easy to use, Yet would be complex like Linux is (customizablity...etc), Along With them learning from the mistakes M$ made (such as holes and flaws)

And hopefully, it will be open source (which Im guessing what makes Linux so secure) Instead of having caged up monkeys programming for you. Then again, Open source isnt popular among those of the lesser intelligance (your basic buyer who knows crap) that is, and only the advanced (us) are turned on by it.

Then again, google can offer 2 flavors, Retail, and Open Source. Retail (the basics, simplicity..etc) and the open source edition.

Game compatabilty would be a must... I thinking that Google should pay MS for the rights to DX and make their own version of it, so games would work. Then, it would be in perfect competition with MS and cost about half the price.
