only problem with that method of detection is that it can't tell the difference between a bot and an extremely good player.

Well, if you have played Lineage 2, you can easily tell who a bot is, but the problem is proof that they are bots.
A good portion of the people playing lineage2 can spot a bot without even having to ask.
The usual signs of a bot are a stupid name such as "lovechan". That was a bot I encountered during my time playing lineage 2.
