CPU News: AMD sues Intel in Japan for $55m

	AMD's Japanese subsidiary yesterday filed two lawsuits against Intel's business operations in the country that seek $55m in damages, or about 8% of AMD Japan's processor sales. "We're not surprised by AMD's latest action in Japan," said Intel spokesperson Tom Beermann, who is based at Intel's Santa Clara, California headquarters. "This is all part of a highly orchestrated PR and marketing campaign by AMD," Beermann said. AMD's latest lawsuits come on the heels of a complaint its US headquarters filed Monday, which did not specify damages. That suit covers global revenue losses that AMD claims it suffered at the hands of Intel's alleged illegal shenanigans.

Japan will probably settle, then make their own super computer, if they haven't already, just to get back at AMD.
