Thinking of selling you virtual property? You may have to pay real taxes on it.

The Profit is Real (5/29), which discussed the growing market for virtual property used in on-line games like Second Life, The Sims, Ultima Online, World of Warcraft. Players buy and sell virtual property on sites like eBay, Ige, and Gamingopenmarket, with the Times noting annual profits of 25k, 100k or more taxable to the gamers. Some of the sites even allow on-line charitable contributions.

There are games out there (RPG's) where u pay REAL cash for game items....

I think its stupid to spend REAL money on items in a game...

Computer
All peripherals
Uniform [can't make a sale without my official Orc-fighting hat]
Travel to and from LAN parties
Virtual medical expenses [my avatar has had a rough year]
eBay and PayPal fees

So, you owe $14 million ...

When can i expect your check - asshats?

I think a warning of this was seen in games like City of Heros were a monthly charge is set in place for gameplay...

One assumes this would go into this such as new maps/ weapons designed by serious gamers...there always seems to be money on the horizon of somthing that has remained free for years.
