I'm interested to hear people's takes on this one. Seems like a cool idea in theory, but there were three reasons I thought acrylic would be exactly wrong for a home theather setup:
  1. You wouldn't want bright lights glowing at you while watching a movie.
  2. Acrylic scratches easily, meaning you wouldn't want to stack it with other home theater components. Probably best not to for cooling purposes anyway.
  3. Given the complete lack of electromagnetic shielding, wouldn't close proximity to your home theater equipment be one of the worst places to put an acrylic pc? Course, I've never heard of anyone having real EMI problems with an acrylic case -- urban legend?
The article addresses some of these issues. What are your thoughts?
