Default Affiliate Review: Sempron on Steroids.

AMD has released a new Sempron based on the 754 platform. The Palermo core is the 3300's design, with decreased Cache (128k), but 90nm SOI, and SSE3 extentsions are included. The CPU is expected to pump out a moderate 62W, the same as the 3100, but because of the new SSE3 parts, heat remains cannot be reduced.

LINKAGE HERE to HotHardware...will this one be as good -an - overclocker?

according to the stats from SiSoft Sandra 2004 there were different marks between both manufacturers
while the semperon 3300 does have a distinct edge on its 3100 and the same processor i used the
xp3200+ in graphic intense ai it does as do all amd (generalization based on the 12-15 processors
ive dealt with over the years7amd and 5 known intel and 3 unknown)amd processors do tend to lag
in comparison to intel chips for burning authoring and several less graphic intense functions

(gross generalization)basically my opinion is thus intel is better for internet and media functions
amd processors are better for more graphical intense aplications like cad 3d efects programs
and games in general but perticularly games based on frame rate for performance this is the reason
i went with the athlon xp 3200+ and tried to match my bus speeds by getting the 400 fsb barton core
pc 3200 dual channel 2x512 corsair and radeon 9800se which i havent needed to update yet to the
pro but its just a sofmod curently 350/300 so the slowest bus is the gpu allowing everything to run
at least as fast as the gpu also curently no programs are out yet based on the 64 bit architecture
i know 64 is the future but personaly until more programs make use of the capability performance
gain is limmited to the slowest link in the chain usualy ram or gpu especially if its from dell, hp, etc.
