| How ironic. An industry that does not even understand technology, that is so fearful of new ideas and innovation that it has to bribe lawmakers into abolishing such things as consumer fair-use rights, that is trying to get legislation passed that would allow them to hack your PC if you download illegal copyrighted material, has been hacked itself for at least the second time in the past month. | I do not condone hacking of any kind. It gives us all a bad name (granted, among those we really don't care about in most cases) and we should be cracking down on our own for doing it if we ever want to become publically accepted. that said, that is some pretty funny sh!t ![]() [EDIT] After further consideration: What would you guys say the odds are that these "hackings" are a plot by RIAA to 1) get free publicity and 2)"prove" that they are the "good guys" by giving themselves an "enemy" that they supposedly need to fight? seems rather simple.. make a new front page to look like it was a hacked version and throw it up there long enough for it to get seen. go to the "authorities" and say "look what those kids did.." word gets out and spreads on the net and the news and now maybey their anti-sharing hacking proposal isn't so insane.. it's a rough world out there.. look at what thye have to deal with.. if the sharing was gone then these thugs wouldn't have anything to fight RIAA over.. boy we should get rid of that stuff fast... ok, i admit, i forgot my medication this morning , but hey.. it really isn't THAT far fetched.....Last edited by Miststlkr; 13-January-03 at 09:50 AM. | ||

| That doesn't sound too far off Mist. They get hacked too many times to be not supicious. But if they are caught......it would mean the death of them.....by blaming(framing) some innocent hacker. The RIAA needs to be stopped...plain and simple.....what if they hacked the wrong mofo? And wiped out 20 years worth of research on some college campus somewhere. They would get their a$$es sued so fast. It is us who need to sue THEM for once. All for selling us crap music for the past few years. If the millions of us file-sharers sue them all at once.....they would then see that they just bit the hand that feeds them........time to put them to sleep.......for good. | ||

| LOL.. it's just like Ellingson Mineral back in the early 90's (c'mon.. i know more then a few of you got that one...)and we should sue them for putting sh!tty music on the radio... there's only one station out here that plays "classic rock" and at least 4 that play this new sh!t.... it's rediculous. | ||
