Online Battle Spills out Into the Streets

A City Councilman in the city of Los Angelos has called for an investigations on Cybercafe's(Internet Cafe's...etc) in the city after a brawl resutled between two rival groups playing Counter-Strike.

"About 100 people had gathered at the NetStreet Internet Cafe at the time of the melee, with witnesses reporting that fighters had wielded metal chairs and pipes. In July a 19-year-old man was shot and killed outside his home as he returned from a gaming session at NetStreet."

I wish there was a way to infuse the young with a proper respect for life and the intrinsic knowledge that you can die from stupid ****.

I Agree completly. Its simply amazing the lack of accountablity people take. Ive said it once and ill say it again, it all begins with the parents (im not one myself, but im sure alot of you parents can agree) All it takes is a little instilling of values into your children to keep crap like this from happening.

I dont mind idiots dessimating(that right) each other however, what I do mind is that , that kinda stuff will get senators alot of votes by passing bils when mothers start pleading to them that their sons death could of been avoided.IF YOU WOULD OF TOOK BETTER CARE OF THEM!!!! THEN THIS $#1+ WOULDNTA HAPPENED!!!!!!!!!!!

The way I see it, who's to say this was even about counterstrike? I can tell you that the grand melee happens just people people piss off other people, not because of games. Hey, there's a parking lot where some kids fought outside this LAN gaming place...but the fight only started because they were jackasses! This is los angeles we're talking here...the net cafe's and the like are abundant...but so is fighting. Did you know what happened on New Year's day/eve? 3 people were shot and killed by what was something like a drive-by (but the car actually stopped). There simply is no comparing this childish crap with what happens in the rest of los angeles.

Well, he noted a city councilman of Los Angeles, which means there ain't that many white folk in the first place. Guess there would have to be more specification on _where_ in L.A. it's talking about.

Where I live a guy was killed and had his head chopped off.
Media found out he used to be doing Live Vampire Roleplaying and
started writing about how the only way to kill a vampire is
by cutting off his/her head.
The police caught the two perps and it turned out they didn't
play RPG's and were in no way connected to the victim.

Point of the story is: Don't believe everything you read.

wow that sucks for that guy.

have the news people really investigated what the fight was about. it didnt seem to say anything about that in the news report. for all we know it could of started because some guy stepped on another guys foot. it amazes me that some people are stupid enough to do things like that. and whats worse is that it gives us and videogames in general a bad name.
