Great links Feral. Did anyone read the aquagate review? I've seen this in a few magazines lately too. If you notice in the pic the temp probe is sitiing on top of the cpu and below the block, wouldn't that make the block not seat itself correctly on the chip?

SB218,

you are right. by putting the temp prob there, the cpu will not sit completely flush on the CPU. Which should cause the CPU to heat up.

The only way to possibly do this, is if they cut a slot on the bottom of the heat sink to accomodate the temp prob, which I doubt they did.

Well I'm glad I wasn't going crazy. The other day I was at Barnes and Nobles reading a mag and they showed the temp probe in the same position too. Also you can tell there is no slot because it would have been cut underneath where the water flows and blocks just aren't thick enough. I wonder why people are mounting probes like this....

its kinda funny. If you look at the pics. The position of the temp probe changes when the heat sink goes down.

Also they are running the wire through the NB Heatsink.

Its weird. Oh well.

This type of stuff bothers me, because it's a site that shows how to do things and then they show them wrong.
