Great link, Lokie. Man, this optimizing for specific games crap is pissing me off. It's like false advertising. What about the games that aren't optimized for by nvidia? I guess they just get to run like crap. Well not crap, but nowhere near as good as ATI in those games.

I had begun to let that whole issue slide, too because I figured they learned the error of their ways. I guess I was wrong. I can tell you this. When doing graphic card review I will now require myself and the other staff to do a couple benchmarks that use the stock .exe in farcry as well as a renamed one to make sure people are fully informed.

And here I was thinking of actually going back to Nvidia.

Although the NV-40 GPU family looks to be very promising, I can't trust Nvidia to be honest on it's performance on games that it's not optimised for.

Too bad.

That seals it for me...I'm voting on the 'next graphics card' thread now. I'm voting ATI. NV crap app optimizing combined with the crap they've been shoveling down user's throats the past 18 months and the crap AGP-PCI-E bridge...man...they're really losing ground now...in my books...

thats pretty lame on the nvidias side, anybody with new realeased games try to rename game exe's and lets see wut other games get optimized
