![]() Deferring to Secret Service worries about terrorists, the government is deliberately blurring its highest-quality aerial photographs over Washington to hide objects in plain view on the roofs of the White House, Capitol and Treasury Department. Experts also questioned the effectiveness of blurring one set of government-financed photographs. Tourists can see the roofs of the White House and U.S. Capitol from dozens of tall buildings downtown Full Story @ MSNBC | ||

| Kind of interesting, especially when you factor in GPS. That system is great, it's how I navigate unknown snowmobile trails when I'm on vacation. If I can do that within 3 feet accuracy on a snowmobile moving at 70 mph then what could a terrorist do with the same commercially available eqipment? hmmmmm | ||

| Etiquette & English Gentleman | Seems kind of dumb to me - not the basic idea, but blurring it I mean... that just advertises the fact that there is something to be hidden. They could have just photoshopped those details out and/or put fake ones in & not told anyone. | |

| its just so the bureaucrats have something to do. i mean the warning colors was a good way to waste time and money while looking like work but this nust have been done to fill in a deadline. hmm... what can we do that seems like we did something? ahh! blur photos of our buildings. now we need a reason. i would be more worried about something like, oh say, pens being used as wepons on airplanes. | ||

| If you were able to zoom out on that photo, you could trace the paths that go to the "main" buildings in DC. the path follows the exact shape of a pentacle (or pentagram depending on your reference point). Don't suppose the Masons had any say in the layout of the land, do you? | ||

| there;s pratically no way to win this war against terrorism, I mean, the terrorists are EVERYWHERE in Iraq, they're the f00king civillians, as long as USA stay's in Iraq, they're going to die, untill the death toll is too high, then they retreat. the Iraqis are just going to say that they caught Saddam, and now USA should leave, so if USA don't leave, the bombings are going to contiinue...IMHO | ||
