Spammers are at it again. The Direct Marketing Association is attempting to redefine the meaning of Spam, in the wake of the resently past CAN-SPAM legislation.
The Direct Marketing Association, which strongly opposed the California law, said in a statement that CAN-SPAM "effectively creates a national standard that clearly distinguishes legitimate commercial e-mail from unlawful spam."
Critics of the law rejected that interpretation.
"The DMA is up to its usual tricks of trying to redefine spam to mean 'that which our members do not send,'" Linford said. "There has never been any argument over the definition of spam." Full Story @ Wired.com
