| Tired of one hit wonders? So are the labels. Record labels are urging artists to put fewer tracks on albums because fans are put off by too many average songs, the Los Angeles Times has reported. "There's been a tendency to overload CDs because the technology permits it," CD sales are competing with websites that give fans songs cheaply or free. Record labels are urging the clampdown on album tracks as a way of reversing a three-year-long slump in album sales. "We all should be concerned about giving music buyers good value, whether they're getting eight, 10 or 20 songs." Full skit here. | ||

| They just can't see the forest for the trees can they? They tell artists to cut the number of songs on their albums so what.......... they can push more useless, pre-fab, no-talent, BS "artists" on us? Me thinks not! I like to judge music for myself, not be told that I should listen to it if I "want to be cool." I say screw albums altogether and just put out individual songs and let people choose the ones they like. But what do I know, I have only been a musician for since the early 80's. | ||
