Default Phantasms Windows Update Package!!!

Hey Pimps and Hoes......
A Super Smart Bro of mine (Phantasmic) has put together the ultimate update for your Windows XP... As of late Windows has "Officially Released" a new update but it only contains 22 critical updates...This Patch he's created has 73 updates... all of which I find to have helped system stability.... I will paste his official notes... Please read it before you download and install it...Any Comments or suggestions please use the forum here....
Thanks...
Digi!!

Just click the read more button for full details!!

--Windows XP Pre-Service Pack 2 Hotfixes Auto-Patcher--

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How often do you install Windows XP? PC Crashes, Viruses, or even fixing other peoples systems... most people install XP regularly, whether they want to or not. After awhile, you get sick of going to Windows Update and continuously downloading patch after patch. Well, I have just the thing. I've spent 3 days compiling this list of updates for Microsoft Windows XP Pro/Home. I would recommend you already install Service Pack 1 (or 1a) before you run this updater (I mean, why would you run it otherwise, if not to patch it fully?). You can either snag it from Windows Update, or you can get the full network install here:

http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...p1a_en_x86.exe

Be warned, it's a 125.09 MB download, so hopefully you have DSL or Cable or the like. Then again... this patcher was a 86.2 MB download, so it's just a little more. (Personal Tip: Once you download both SP1a and my Auto-Patcher, burn them both to a disk and then you can update any system anywhere!)

This patch takes anywhere from 20 - 60 minutes to install, depending on the speed of your system. Don't kid yourself, if you're running a Pentium II 400 with 256 MB of PC100 RAM, it's not gonna finish for awhile. And if you're running an Athlon XP 3200 with 2 GB of PC3500 RAM, don't expect this to take too long. Either way. it's not going to be any longer than sitting through Windows Update, and some of these patches aren't even ON Windows Update.

Anywho, here is what is in this Auto-Patcher:

** 61 Windows XP Pre-Service Pack 2 Hotfixes
** 12 Internet Explorer Updates
** 1 CD-ROM copy protection update
** 1 Microsoft Virtual Machine update
** 1 Windows Script 5.6 update

So there's a Grand Total of 73 updates for you boys and girls to enjoy!

As I said above (though some of you may have just skipped it cause you don't like to read... you know who you are), before you run this, you should install Windows XP Service Pack 1 or 1a.

When it comes to running the Auto-Patcher, you really only have two choices:

Choice 1: Run "pre_sp2_patcher_notuninst.bat"
Choice 1: Run "pre_sp2_patcher_uninst.bat"

What's the Difference? Well:

"pre_sp2_patcher_notuninst.bat" - Installs all fixes and updates, but doesn't back up any files (you can't uninstall them).
"pre_sp2_patcher_uninst.bat" - Installs all fixes and updates, and does back up any files (you can uninstall them).

Personally I would always use the uninstallable one, but that's just me... I've had plenty of people tell me they would rather take their chances, so I included a way for them to do so.

*** Be forewarned... upon running this Auto-Patcher should your computer become unstable, kill your dog, sleep with your girlfriend, start stealing your clothes, or behave odd in any other fashion... I warned you and can't be held liable! And yes, in case you were wondering... this was the warning. I've yet to have any problems with it on any system I've run it on, but I don't know you or what yours has... so there. ***

Hey! I'm glad everyone is liking my patcher (I finally buckled under and registered an account here... haha)! Anywho, as of right now (8:08 AM CST) I'm updating the patcher with 2 patches that came out last night/early this morning. It should be done in about 30 min or so (I'll post soon as it is). The new file size will be 93.4 MB and you can get it in the same place as last time (link didn't change). Anyways, let me know how it works for you... I'll more than likely continue to add to it until SP2 comes out!

Just wanted to post a quick update! The link has changed, because the version has changed:

Get the new one here!!

I have de-bloated the update so it's about 50 MBs, I also changed the way it installs so you can watch it's progress. As far as the patches installed, it does the same as the previous version, just smaller... and dare I say.... sexier?

Microsoft's rollup only contains 22 patches (mine contains those as well). The difference is actually about 30 or so update that Microsoft's patch doesn't contain. Don't believe me? Take a fresh Windows XP SP1 install and load ONLY the Update rollup and then go to Windows update... there will still be PLENTY of things to get.

But what if you can't install the service pack to begin with? That's the problem I'm having, and I don't see any way to fix it. Others have fixed the same problem, but I have tried their solutions without getting anywhere.
"Setup could not verify the integrity of the file Update.inf" is part of the error message I get. I have checked and double-checked everything anyone has told me about the crypotgrophy and the command prompt "ren" junk and whatever, but I still can't install the first service pack...
Any ideas?
