Well gang... the time has come for PimpRig to step up and play with the big boys. In order to do that we needed to clean up our image a little since there are quite a few companies that simply would not work with us since we had the word PIMP in the site title and domain name. This is a big step in the right direction for our site and our community. I will be posting an editorial on Monday with more details about the move so look for that.

As I migrate the site over to the new name and image bear with me... Most of the major stuff was just done. If you are having ANY site issues try these steps first before reporting any issues in this thread.

1. Delete your cookies and empty browser cache.
2. Close your browser.
3. Open browser and reload the site.
4. Login.

ALSO, our sister site should be getting a HUGE makeover tomorrow as well! Uberw00t.com will become GameApex.com. The site will have a completely redone layout as well.

I love the change! I disliked the previous name and for a long time it was the reason I didn't take the site seriously. I think this move is brilliant!

And more importantly I like the new name and logo.

This sucks! I quit! I'm going to set up a rival site called [L]uddites (with the strapline "Resistant to change") ... anyone with me?

I am working on re-watermarking all of our article and review pics (15,000+ !!! total) and those will be going up as I complete the various review categories.

No more Pimps and Hoes....

But if its for the good of the site, then I suppose we'll live.

I liked the RimpRig title. Kind of rebellious and catchy.
However I can see the need for change in order to grow in the vast ever changing times of the World Wide Web.

Business is business and I support the change.

im kinda sad and happy...for onething when ever im on my moms lapptop (im still young)she thinks im going to porn sites(XD) but im also happy for the fact that there is change...idk the rest of u but i like change

when u say other companies wont work with u b.c of the name..you mean like mergeing with another site or you are going to start to sell there products...

It will take getting use to but i don't like it right now. No hoe's no pimps now it just sounds nasty when i say it cause vistors will not get it.

1) You can't use that pimprig clothing and goodies so can i have them?
2) Does this mean the domain PimpRig.com is up for sale?
3) Can i buy it?

You guys have no idea how hard it was for me to not say the new name here or over at Uberw00t (now GameApex). In fact, I accidently had GameApex.com in my "slogan" on my XBOX360 account for a few days.

These are exciting times, let me tell you I'm stoked for the GameApex site redesign though

Well, the PR title certainly gave it some character, but I think the rename was a very wise business move. I know personally a few people that would not take the site seriously, just because of the name.

Look at it this way, we might have lost a tiny something in the name change, but we kept the community, which was the real strong point of the website. Also, the new name could possibly mean more sponsors (more contests? ), definitely more members, and maybe even a little more "respect" from the rest of the computer community out there on the world wide interweb thingy.

I love the change, GK and staff, I know that it will bring nothing but benefits to the site!

No surplus clothes here since they are all made to order. PimpRig.com will always point to the site here. If I dropped the domain totally our traffic would be crappy for a while. This allows for a smoother transition. So, no, noone can buy it.

Yeah, Apex is:

1 a : the uppermost point : VERTEX apex of a mountain> b : the narrowed or pointed end : TIP apex of the tongue>
2 : the highest or culminating point apex of his career>

The second definition is more suited to us.
