It is great to see all the positive support. As BA said this was a hard decision, but one that was necessary. As we all know in the PC industry you either lead, follow or get out of the way. Nothing holding us back now, so everyone will need to get out of our way.

A change for the better, I did like PR though. What kind of rating system will put in place of

PR was definitely on the edge and started out as a small community with a family feel to it. Over the years, I can honestly say it is not what it used to be, rather something different. Not necessarily a bad thing, just not the same. Changing the name to something more generic as PCApex may be a step in the right direction for business and further expanding the successfulness of the site, but it throws out that small community feel that existed before. Business is definitely taking over, which may be a good thing, but all I can say is I really hope it stops here. Well, I don't think you have to worry about much else changing, aside from more sponsorship... We're still going to keep to our style of telling it how it is and should be in the reviews we do and not sell our souls to the sponsor's like some other sites have

I have known "PimpRig" for years and I will miss it. I understand why you are doing it though and in the end it can only benefit the site so I am with it.

I got a forum update today from PCApex....at first I thought it was spam...then I realized what had happened. As much as I was saddened I was happy as I am sure pcapex.com will pass the big brother censor program we have at work whereas pimprig got snared everytime. Although I still love the "pimp" and deep down inside I still will be it doesn't change the reason for my coming here..the people. This place rocks no matter what it's called and if the name change gets us more credibilty then all the better.

I love the change GK and I can only guess the amount of work and testing is involved.

I'm going to miss the good ole PR, it still holds a place in my heart.

I like the new direction the site is going, towards a more professional and big league style. Good job GK and the rest of the crew. Although i think you can do a bit more further by redesigning the layout of the website, espcially the front page. Right now its too cluttered, and usually i skip whatever is on it and come direct to the forums. You need to somplify it and make things easier on the eye. The lists of forum posts and stuff just isnt pleasing. There are also 7 picture ads, one google ads, and two link ads. I think you should cut it down to maybe 5-6 total and keep them on the perimeter of the page. I know it may decrease profits a bit, but with the increase traffic, and company hookups, and stuff you will get in the long run will by far make up for this. It just has to be a whole lot smoother if u want someone like me to pay attention to whats on the homepage. Maybe something along the influence of Anandtech, they have managed to pull off a decent layout with lots of ads, but its still somewhat smooth to the eye and easy to pinpoint the information you need/want.

a cleaner and more professional looks will win in the end, both for you, businesses you hook up with, and us the readers. I also think u should get rid of the price compare thing on the site....most people know the price comparison websites, and/or can find the better deals in the forum, so its like a waste of space. OR just redesign it so that only the search box shows, which will be good since its a non hassle feature, and not all the product category links, its annoying.

Also might I suggest keeping the name Pimprig somewhat still a part of this community perhaps by renamming the Mod Worklog section to "PimpRigs" or "PimpRig Logs" or whatever, since they are usally the larger more prominent projects worthy of such a title, and since its a forum specific thing, it wont interfear with company connections

I feel a little disapointed with the name change.. We've all watched "Pimp my Car" at least once and know for sure they have great buisness opportunities.. Everybody in America knows what pimpin' means. And pimp is strongly associated with "bling" and buisness is all about "bling".. I don't get it, really..
