I'm on board 100% GK. I used to get funny looks when I would tell people I saw so and so on PimpRig. I think the name change is a good move and lends an air of credibility to the site. I say "Farwell" to Pimprig, she was a good ship, and she brought us far. Time to board PCApex, and sail to new horizons. Yeah, I know it's corny but who cares.

What about member titles? I see the generic ones have changed over, but what about the custom ones with the words Pimp and Hoe? Shouldn't those be changed as well?

A good point Slider, which I too raised in another thread. Im sure they'll think of something equally as cool to theme custom titles on.

This should bring all current members together, as we will remember the good old days of endless Hoe jokes and the humble young PimpRig

First I was a little sceptical about pc-apex (or rather I was so used to pimprig), but I understand that apex is better than pimp in the business world. Besides, apex sounds pretty pimp anyway

I'm going to stand behind GK and all the other supporters on this one.

I had no problems at all with the name PimpRig, but I used to get a few sideways glances from some of the less openminded (conservative) folks I know when talking about the site. Personally, this never really bothered me.....

However, I totally understand the marketing issues our original name might have caused and I'm sure that what's been done is for the best.

Well I always had to explain to people what Pimprig was, but I loved it personally. Its not every day that you come across a PimpRig or a site all about Pimp Rigs! Im all about change and I look forward to PCApex making more growths.

Trust me dudes, we appreciate the support. I hope you all understand that this was a freakin' HARD decision to make, and the name thing went on for weeks. I would also like everyone to understand that it may take a month or two until we can get the PCA name out there where it is recognizable. I hated to see PR go since the site has done so much for me and I have committed so much of my time to it, but I had to think of it rationally and came to the realization that it is for the best.

Now, I will give rep to the first person who can send me the ZZ Top song that has something in the chorus about looking for some P-C-A. Maybe it was P-S-A. I still want the song.

See, with a name like Dick Nervous, I can 110% understand what GK and the rest of the staff are talking about and why they had to change the name of the site. More then once I have considered changing my name, but could never think of anything. Besides, I've been using this name going on 10 years now...

I think it is great the PR got to the point where the name was a problem. That is a *good* thing in a lot of ways. More sponsors, being taken serious, and everything else all the folks mentioned. While I am new here, I've known about and visited PR for a looong time. Just never joined the forums until recently. I love the name Pimp Rig and the whole "pimp" theme. For everyone who says "Aww, it is just a name", you are wrong. The name is the first thing you see, the first impression, it sets the tone for expectations and is a very important part of the overall site. It helps set the tone of the community as well. I can guarantee you that if PR started as PC Apex, it would be a very different place. I am not saying better or worse, just different.

Like I said, I understand 110%, and support you folks 120% in your efforts and wish you the best of luck, not only with the "new" site, but trudging through all the changes.

What's in a name? That which we call a pimp by any other name would still smack a hoe.

I am also 100% behind the name change if it's bringing the community bigger and better opportunities. I realize a lot of people might think the name is bland and miss PR, but you just gotta do what you gotta do. I will miss the name as well as I found Pimprig to be a unique and great name for a computer forum.

I can't wait to start seeing reviews of the latest top notch parts and what not, I must say I've been bored with reviews of all kinds of modding gimmicks. I like reviews of the latest CPUs, boards, gfx cards, etc. more and this whole name change sounds like I will be seeing more of that stuff here

the only thing i don't like about the name change is that i was gonna do a really cool backlit PR logo on the side of my new rig. nowi gotta decide if i should be nostalgic and stick with PR logo, change it to a PCA logo, or do something entirely different.

Yea same here chairman6X6, I also had started a PimpRig logo in aluminum.
I guess I'll finish it and keep it for nostalgia now.
