I really don't know what to think either. I loved the name PimpRig and was proud to say it to whomever I approached. This new name is odd and will take some time to get used to. I am a loyal PR and now Apex follower. I will never turn my back to the brothers and sisters of this site. So I will have to adapt. And if its for the better I am all for that. Good luck with the change GK, I am sure this will help you out greatly!

EDIT: GK---Are the titles of Pimps and Hoes goin to change too??

I like the new name, but I'll bit truthful a bit..I was a bit dissapointed that we changed our name. It flows nice and all, but its like your house and moving. WHen you move it does feel the same. I'll probably get used to it as time goes on though, so dont worry.

Unless...theres more changes ahead? like different colors, or a different theme...or some other thing..

But..The new Name..and the design above..is giving me an Idea for a Computer Mod...

Well I for one welcome the new site. PR has been a home to may people for a long time. But this new site is (has) to be better then the old one. With new sponsors comming aboard, we have no place to go but up!

Well, when I say this, I hope I speak for the other staff as well. We were/are all behind Gary on the name change for all the reasons he mentioned and a few others as well.

All of the staff pulled together and did some serious brainstorming to come up with a new name and log that was a good fit for the site.

It was funny though, I was at work yesterday working with a consultant were working with in our IT department and he came over just as I was putting in pcapex.com into my browser. Need less to say, his first reaction as "I don't even want to know..." I have gotten that from a lot of people I know as well as family members. So, it is indeed sad to see the name PimpRig.com go into the annals of the WWW, but I think that this is a great new era for the site as a whole and can only lead the site closer to the Apex of the tech oriented website food chain (not that I don't think we are already there).

Ohh i figured it out. Since the tittle pimprig draws a younger croud. Gary is growing up and getting more mature on us and he wants a bigger older crowd, which by changing the name will draw them.

When you click on the PC in the title strip to get the new post, the post in the list that is return is all bold, even the ones with no new posts in them.

also when you click on the PCapex logo it goes to pimprig, when you click Home it goes to PCapex

I agree 100%.

My first reaction was, "How could we get rid of 'PimpRig'?"; heck, I've been visiting since late 2001. But remembering back, the reasons I joined had nothing to do with the name and everything to do with the content, community, and edginess. All of which are staying the same -- or more likely, getting better!

Personally I always felt like that was a great conversation starter, though. If someone walks by and sees me browsing "PimpRig", they are like "wait, what is that?" Gives me a chance to tell them about this kick-ass community of PC modders. I'm sure we'll all learn to live with PCApex in short order, it's just gonna take some getting used to!

Hope this brings in more ad bucks, but more importantly MORE SWEET GEAR TO REVIEW
