The current server we are on we have been using for the last 2 or 3 years now. I just submitted a ticket to have our old server taken offline and we will be moving to a newer server with a little more horsepower for the same price! PLUS, we will be ditching Ensim and going with plain Red Hat instead. The result should be an even quicker surfing experience with even more growth headroom. I wanted to let you guys know because the move will be happening very soon. The old server will go offline in a couple days and the new server should be up a day or two after that. I will try to make sure that the transition is a smooth as possible but we may have a day or two worth of downtime AT MOST. I am aiming for ZERO downtime if possible.
The current server is a dual 2GHz Xeon setup with 4GB ECC
RAM and x2 73GB SCSI 320 drives. The new server will have nearly the exact same specs, except it will have dual 2.8GHz Xeons and will run plain Red Hat instead of Red Hat + Ensim.
Thanks to my new job as graphic website designer for LPS Integration, I will be able to do these kinds of things which I have been too broke to do in the past. I just want you to know that I am dedicated to keeping
PC Apex alive and well even though I do have a new full-time day job.

I had to find a way to pay for my trips to CES and other conventions as well as get some nice insurance so Tonya and I can start to have little modders of our own soon.
I also have some site design tweaks coming that will widen the review content area on the main site. The layout for the forums and gallery will remain largely unchanged but will be recoded to try to bring back the old, fancy DHTML menus we used to have in the forums.
Just keep these updates/upgrades in mind if you try to go to
PC Apex in the next few days and run into some trouble.
