Dang AntiM, that has to be the most thorough review of a headset I have ever read. Truely impressive. The headsets look pretty nice, but I would be worried about the weight issue as well.

No kidding

That looks like a nice set of headphones but I think I'll stick to more accurate sound for the moment. Also I'm curious---How'd you manage to get ahold of Half Life 2 Episode 2?!

Excellent review though--definatly one of the better ones for the Razer that I've seen.

Nice to see Razer diversifying into other products - they're a great company, and their mice are definitely top class. Good review btw.

Excellent review! I've been considering getting a set to replace my Zalman 5.1's as the sound quality isn't so great although the positioning is excellent. Looks like I may keep waiting though, if they're heavy and weigh down on glasses that's not going to fly. The Zalman's are very comfortable and put practically no pressure on my glasses so I can wear them at LAN's comfortably for hours on end.

I'm like, the only one who doesnt like these.

I'm too much of a headphone addict to buy things like this. Honestly, I feel that the surround sound portion is a gimmick. There is no need for that many drivers for surround sound. Unless each drive has its own enclosure, true surround sound isnt exactly possible. I find that when it comes to headphones, two drivers can equally match a surround sound headset. Stereo headphones do a surprisngly good job at creating sound in different directions.

Headphones I own:

Sony MDR V6
Grado Prestige 325i
Grado SR80

Yah, I'm a huge grado fan, mostly cuase they sound freakin awsome.

I would just get some MDR's, they are $65, and I'm sure they sound much better, at least for accuracy in music.

The low end Grado(SR-80) ussually runs for around $95 and is incredibly good sounding---according to the reviews I've seen anyways. I'm on a set of Koss TD-85's right now that a pretty sweet; I'd say they're on par with the Bose Tri-Ports in the high and middle range but they lose points in the bass and comfortablility department.

Great review and very detailed. I am really curious to see what the sound card is going to be like and if the combo is really that much better than what is out there. For now I will stick with my Sneheisser PC-160s, which I think work pretty darn well. Of course, that may change once Razer gets the card out.

I read a review or two of the Grado, I think comfort is right up there with sound quality and bass response, so I don't know how easily I'll flip for those...

I use some Maxell Studio quality things now, cuz my pops works for them and I got a discontinued series for free, tried both leather and a felty cupped one, really don't like leather because of the sweating it does, but the felt is amazingly comfortable...also I really like the "around the ear" design more than the cover the ear way, feels like my ears were being squished... besides the whole "leaking sound" issue they have....

just expressing my views...

Hmm, nice selection there, Waffle. What pair would you recommend out of the Grado SR80's and the Sony MDR v6's?

Gotta agree with Wafflesomd. Grado headphones, which are very retro looking, are a real euphoric experience. Nice thick cord that can take some abuse (The casters on my office chair are always running over my . Only drawback is that they are an open can design, so you can hear everything around you, which can be good and bad, depending on the case.
