Asus P4SDX Review

BigAkita is back! This time he gives the SiS655 sportin' Asus P4SDX motherboard a run around the block. Having used this board myself I can whole-heartedly agree with his opinions. Quick board for a low price.

Great review, great motherboard for the money, I had a SiS655 but after Gigabyte RMA stole it from me, I just got the Intel 865 based Abit IS7-E and it blows the SiS655 to to the swamps of celeron-like-slowness.

Though yes the SiS655 was their answer to the Granite Bay, no doubt.

Id have to say granite bay was more hyped from what Ive read. I heard about it a good 9 months before i saw one. I read a lot about the 875 and 865 but not the extend of granite bay.

I was going to put 8 months in the review, but was pretty sure it was longer than that. It was at least for 8 months I put up with all the articles about the second coming of the CPU with Granite Bay before it actually arrived.

I am standing right now, with the words "corrected" in bold red color spray-painted accross my chest, if that is not "standing corrected" then I dont know what is.

BTW BA did you use the 3.06 P4 with the board? I never saw it stated if you used it or not.

Yeah, sorry. I guess I didn't make it clear. I used the same 3.06 processor with both Intel boards.

I've enjoyed my board... I bought in late march I think... and am guessing that I didnt get the revised one. Is that hyper threading issue complete? Or does it affect some but not others... and thanks for that chipset comment as well, ill open er up when i get home and check on it. Although I've had it running non-stop forever now and havent had any problems yet...
