Default Cooler Master Centurion 534 ATX Case

Foe has a new review up on the Centurion 534 ATX Case. Looks like Cooler Master has another solid, budget-friendly case on the market. The case is not without faults, though.

Check it out here.

Am I the only person that REALLY dislikes their toolless design?

I'm not a big fan of it... The best toolless implementation that I have seen is on the Tsunami case.

My CoolerMaster AeroGate II is not usable in CoolerMaster cases thanks to that design - I can't even remove the plastic tabs and find screw holes. I have to drill screw holes too. Part of the reason I've now nix'd Ace Is High.

Yer not alone , I actually dont like tooless designs in ANY case , for myself anyhow. I prefer either rails or just good ol' screws

Good review BTW Foe , is it me or does that case seem a little sub par for a coolermaster product ??? like they hurry'd the design and production.

I'm not a big fan of those tooless designs, either, as they seem so fragile. There is definately room for improvement upon the whole ideal of tooless design but I think that they need to take it a different direction.

Great review Foe, very thorough

I think the inside looks ugly.... its nothing too special inside with all the blah

the wavemaster and tsunami have nice interior, all cases should be perdy inside.

I was all happy when i saw the brushed bezel and shiny helmet....then the side panels came off...

-edit
LOL that sounds kinda like a bad date

While I wasn't very impressed with the case itself, the front is nice looking. I wouldn't refuse to build a pc for someone who wanted it.

The review however was very good. I found myself reading every word... I usually only skim to the parts I want to read. I read all of Foe's reviews, and even though she is my wife, I find them very well written. She most certainly is a natural. If we all ask her very nicely, maybe she will continue to provide this service to PCA members.

Nice booboo btw!

Pretty nice review Foe. I would have to agree with the majority here and say that nearly every tool less design have been pretty lame. There have been a few but thats about it.

Sorry to hear you got cut up. Atleast you didn't break a nail...

Thank you all for the comments, and checking out the review.

This really is a nice base level case, though it is not the quality I am used to seeing from Cooler Master, that is in part due to most of the items I reviewed by CM have been more high end items. This would be an excellent case for a basic PC user, or for a mod project.

As for the tool-free parts of the case, they are a good idea that is trying to be more user friendly. There is more work to be done to find the best way to implement them into the cases, without compromising safety and security of the components.

Awesome review Foe! Made even better by the fact that I've got one on the way thanks to you guys!

I gotta say tho, I too am not a huge fan of some companies toolless designs. My thermaltake armor is great tho so far, but one problem I have is not being able to use a double-din wc resevoir because of the way the rails are set up in each slot. Other than that, I like Tt's version. On that Centurion tho, I can see that some vinyl dye is definitely going to be in order for those off-white pieces.
