| Those cables are truly one of the best looking features of the PSU. Ever since I did the review of the Ultra 500W, it has been in my main rig. Performs great, and looks damn good! | ||

There are the 500w and the 600w X-Finity. If you notice in my post above I linked to the 500w, which I did a review on a few months ago. Here is the 600w, at TD.

| Hey BA, Great review!!!! I really like this PSU's look and all but I had a question about it... A friend of mine bought one from Tiger Direct and after having to have it replaced once (product box was dented in and so was the lable side of the PSU yet the shipping box was fine... Shady? I think so) but anyway, both had what appeard to be a resistor in heatshrink on the bottom of the PCB which was causing a slight bulge on the body of the PSU and had the PCB warped..... Does the one you reviewed have this same issue? | ||

| Apex Techie Wannabe | Hi guys, A long time readers on this site but just recently joined. BA great reviews on the X-Finity PS. It's a very good product. I'm also a proud owner on one of the first generation X-Finity PS (500Watt) for over a year. It "ALWAYS" run very stable with full loads. Being a gamers like myself I'm very impressed with ULTRA. Now, I'm even more impressed with it's second generation of X-Finity. Especially the FlexForce Cables and the new 120mm fan. Just replaced my 1 year old X-Finity on my mATX case (FragBoxII_DIY) and it was "PERFECT". The cables are very flexible to bent around in my little case. Now it's planty of rooms inside for air flows and runs so much cooler. PROS: * FlexForce cables_PERFECT !!! * 600 or 550Watt of powers with all the connectors you need. * 120mm fan for greater air exhaust * Titanium finish * Low Acoustic Noise * Runs very stable CONS: * Wish they come with clear side windows and lights. * It would be nice if it comes with different cable lengths Last edited by baast; 26-February-06 at 04:04 AM.. | |

| Just an encouragement to Ultra and the PCApex reviewers: My brother (who's a hardcore gamer and PC expert in his own right, with a master's in CS) was looking for recommendations for a new power supply. So I sent him a link to the X-Finity review, and last night I got an email from him saying he went ahead and bought one. He was originally going to go with a Thermaltake, but the review changed his mind. | ||

That's pretty cool, FF. Let your bro know that I will be more than happy to school anybody with CS degree on the differences between book larnin' and hands on because you love the hell out of it larnin'. Sounds like you bro is smart in listening to advice. Too many times I speak with some Computer Science graduate and they spout how a Pentium 2 with 128MB of RAM and a Matrox video card is adequate for any application. I just turn to them and state the stats of my system and say, "Guess I got a bit of overkill then, huh?"
