There were supposed to be pics? I saw lots of text, and some pics at the end...

I wish I hit temps like that, but that's far more work/maintenance and expense than I can deal with. There's a reason I use air for cooling... speaking of which, I need to vaccum Bob out of my heatsink... Yes, my dust bunnies have names.

I'd be ticked the site is so slow if it wasn't for such a good reason. Enjoy your 15 minutes ZENN, you earned it with guts, can-do attitude and blistered thumbs. w00tski!!!

hum would this work with p4 chips?

well i guess it should, but what about the heatspreader on the chip....wouldnt it corrode?

and say you have a poverfull pump...could it crush the core with the pressure its putting on it?

Clown,
I'm using a Danner 250 mag drive. The jet just aims efficient water flow at the die to insure even cooling, it's all about the smooth flow over the die, exposing as much water surface as possible, thats why turbulence is good. It's not a "peel the paint off" kind of pressure. Then the outlet is a little larger so the water can leave the Die area easier with less pressure
As for the heat spreader on the P-4, I would think that it is stronger and more durable that silicon. And the fact that they run a little cooler anyway. I've never peeled one open. How much bigger is the die compared to a "1/2 a postage stamp" Barton?
I think it's safe to say ...piece-o-cake

would that be risky, case in doin taht u would prbobly rip the core off as well...

but then again would be worth it.....

anybody has a dead p4 chip, to see how easy or hard it is to peel of the heatspreader?

I'm not sure how the spreader is attached to the die. I assume with a thermal adhesive. I hadn't seen any articles where they peel it off.

I'm sure someone has a couple links, though.

what about a copper block that has no bottom and just glue it on top of the cpu, or better yet solder it to it.
