Default Cooler Master Stacker 830 Case

BigAkita has a new review up on a SWANKY new case from Cooler Master named the Stacker 830. I am VERY tempted to hook up one of these for myself...

Check it out here.

Fantastic review BA - I'm stoked on that case's design and some of the ideas that coolermaster have implemented there (thinks about next mod...)

You must be wrapped to have that puppy keeping your kit housed

I'll tell ya, it's a big mofo. Noise hasn't been an issue with the fan controller, and the inside temps stay at ambient. The only problem I've had is the dust collecting on the intake door, but a quick swipe using an antistatic dusting compound takes care of that. This is one of the sweetest cases I've ever had the pleasure of stowing my gear in. And no, that is not a euphemism.

Comprehensive as always, nice review. Gotta luv CoolerMaster's cases, style and performance in one package. Quantum had a good idea with the open side panel and fans, but leave it to Coolermaster to get it right.

Sweet case, first time I saw it I was amazed.

And check out those GPU temps! NICE !

Makes me feel bad I've taken the Tt Armor...

...plus a 240 x-flow extreme radiator and a WaterChill 12V pump with integrated reservoir
fits easilly inside the case...

i really enjoyed the installation
i only wish it was a little bit taller (damn those 6 hdd's)
and the aluminium was better anodized (tends to scratch very easilly, especially the frame)

WHOA!

I SO have to get one of them - I must admit - it's one of the nicest looking premod cases that i've seen in a while too

Wow, that is a really good looking case. I think CoolerMaster may have something with the "open options" approach: letting you flip your MOBO tray, PSU, door opening direction, etc.

Nice writeup BA. The question is: if you turn all the fans up to full speed, does the case push itself across the floor?

i had all 7xCM120mm led fans on max rpm (no fan control installed)
and believe me it was quiet (don't expect any killer airflow though)
the 2x73gb raptors were more audible than all the fans together
and as for the "pushed itself" part...
lol, the side bracket did close by itself due to the airflow of the 4x120mm fans mounted on it...
(everytime i powered up the system , the bracket would swing as if it was hydraulic!)

Huh? It was quiet on max? Why no air flow if its on max?

Hey Slacker,

Is that your Stacker getting watercooled? I would love to see the project details and some more pics. I am getting a stacker myself and plan on watercooling a opteron 170.

If anyone knows of some projects I can follow please post link here. I would really like to see Stacker 830 projects.

Thanks all.

OK here are some pics of the two RC830 stackers...

The one is totally disassembled
waiting on the torture bench for further modifications

with all side panels, roof and plastic parts removed (ready for electrostatic interior paintjob...)

and the other one "housing" the w/c setup and a Gigabyte Quad SLi mobo & Pressler D950. rig...

and here is the same tray with the asus P5WDG2-WS

NICE!

Do you have a project log setup for this?

Can you also list the watercooling components in your case if you dont mind?

unfortunately i cannot yet reveal any more pics for this project
but you 'll soon be able to see the completed case

the w/c setup consists of the following parts:
- Black Ice X-Flow Xtreme II with two silent CM low cfm 120mm fans
- WaterChill 12V DC Pump
- DD Copper TDX Block

it keeps a D950 @ 5.02 GHZ ~ 60c max temp (snm 100%load @ both cores)
but its all cramped in a corner with no sufficent airflow and workpace...

(you know how it gets when you get new hardware )
