Default Corsair PC3500LL Pro 2GB RAM Kit

RAM is getting sweeter and sweeter. With AMD prepping to move to DDR2 expect to see some seriously nice RAM and RAM deals in the near future as DDR becomes an EOL product. This Corsair low latency PC3500LL reviewed by BigAkita is proof of that.

Check it out here.

Awesome review BA. I've been looking for a replacement for my 1 gig kit of PC3200 ram and the kit you reviewed looks like a good choice. Do you think they will make a similar model that doesn't include the LEDs? I have never been fond of LEDs on ram sticks.

As of right now, the PC3500LL only comes in the XMS Pro configuration.

Shouldn't this go down in price once AMD DDR2 comes out? If so...

Cant decide if I should get that memory kit or the other corsair 2gb kit you used in the review. Or there is always OCZ's Gold GX memory. I dont know. Good review though.

Probably not for a while. DDR2 has such a high latency that migrating to it now doesn't give any performance increase. It won't be until mobo's and RAM running DDR2 become significantly quicker that it will be preferable to run it.

There is one piece of advice I will give everyone, using DDR1 it doesn't take a whole lot of raw speed to overcome latency advantages. That being said, there are some apps that do like low latency, and right now you won't find a low latency 2GB kit like this RAM anywhere else.

I really wish they made these without those stupid LED's. BigAkita do you think it would be possible to remove just the LED's or are they unremovable?

I'm positive they could be removed, you would need some replacement heatspreaders to put on.
