Default Gigabyte G-Power Lite CPU Cooler

BigAkita has a new review up on a decent mid-range CPU cooling solution from Gigabyte named the G-Power Lite.

Check it out here.

One thing if for sure, it looks different than most of the coolers we see now with the blue, white and silver.
Great job as usual BA

Not my choice of colors, I think it looks ugly like that....its just not the same as copper and a black fan (or orange)

Seems like a knockoff Thermalright SI-120 to me.

Nickel plating is used on heatsink bases for many of the same reasons it's used on integrated heat spreaders:

-The nickel plating is much more resistant to corrosion
-Harder, which prevents flexing
-More resistant to oxidation
-Diffusivity barrier

and (sadly) most of all just to keep color consistency. The effect this thin layer has on heat spreading will be minimal, or small enough that the above benefits outweigh this cost in the engineer's eyes.
