Default Innovatek Custom Water Cooling Setup

AntiM has a new review up on a simply amazing water cooling setup from Innovatek. I rarely get envious of another pimps gear but you can color me green when reading this review. =]

Check it out here.

This review goes above an beyond. The case has an industrial look to it till the passive radiator is installed. Then it just looks sexy! I do have one question though...how do you know what thermal paste tastes like?

I wanted to do this one so bad myself, but knew only AntiM could do it justice. Great review.

Very enjoyable read. Well written, well organized and seems like a fantasitic set-up. Is the reviewed set-up available as a package at frozencpu or would one have to piece-meal it together? (and what a delicious meal it would be!!) If not, it certainly seems to be a great trophy-class exterior for someone's "treasure".

Thanks again for a great review.

Thanks all.

hartigan,
I don't know if Frozen will stock this particular kit or not, it came directly from Innovatek at Frozen's request. They do however stock a sweet Silverstone case with a dually already installed. And of course they stock all the parts to build your own.

beachbum,

Alas, the Gummi Candy is no more. It didn't last long.

You say the review was long?

I didn't even notice. Entertaining, detailed, sexy pics, overclocking.....the only thing that could've made it better would be if you'd included some Hobbit-tossing.

Thanks for all your hard work Mike. I will definitely be keeping an eye on Innovatek's products for my own cooling projects.

I can't give you a cost for everything, this is a completely custom kit designed to showcase a myriad of products, the Konvekt-O-Matic booster is brand new and the case is not readily available in the states.

The kit installed in the case is basically the Innovatek Set XXD kit which runs $289.99.
The Maxi rad is $196.99.

The rest of the components you can price out at FrozenCPU.

Just a quick FYI.

I noticed the Konvekt-O-Matic Booster Kit used in this review is now available from FrozenCPU, so you don't have to deal with overseas shipping costs.

Default removing the top rad

I bought the case with just the top mounted rad. I don't have any complaints about the case, I love it. The size definately is not done justice in the pics, this thing is a monster!

Anyway, I loved the review, I have a question for you though. How did you remove the radiator and fans? It looks like they are just mounted with the plastic rivet things, and I tried just prying them off without success. I put pretty good pressure on them, but I didn't want to strain it too hard for fear of breaking something.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
Ed

Default Hey AntiM

Nice review man, I was wondering though. I purchased the Inovotek maxi rad and booster. I put it together and then I bought some red Dragonmodz pop rivets such as you did. The only thing is, the rivets seem to be too small for the rad holes, or am I doing something wrong?

Nope, I ran a drill bit through the holes before I pop riveted it to the door and neglected to mention it in the review. Sorry for the late reply, I just saw this. Mine were actually a bit tight for the rivets I was using although I could force them in. Do you by chance mean too short? I didn't use them to join the thick aluminum pieces, just the rad supports to the thin metal door. Just buy slightly longer rivets if the plastic ones don't work for you.

Great review. Too bad their web site is only in german because it seems to be what I'm looking for (as a first experience in watercooling).
