Default Cooler Master Centurion 531 ATX Case

Foe has a new review up on a very budget friendly case from Cooler Master named the Centurion 531.

Check it out here.

Good review Foe. That case looks like a blank canvas with endless possibilities.

Nice thorough review Foe!

I'd agree with BA that as a blank canvas for modding you couldn't do much better than an affordable and well constructed case like this, but I think it also looks pretty nice stock. For building a standard rig with no mods, say....just for someone to surf on, that one has a good layout. Quick assembly is a nice bonus for client rigs.

Not many people quote Harry Chapin songs these days, particularly in a computer review ...

Oops ... showed my age, didn't I ??

Great review, Foe. And a great case. I've been looking for a nice "blank slate" to do some beginning mods on -- something other than just "added a fan today" kind of mods. This looks like a definite possibility.

Hah! Just noticed the "Stilletos" & "Steel Toes" as pros and cons ...

Thanks for all the good review feedback. Always nice to know people read them

This case really has a very classy sylish look to it. The finish would be great for modding, and I think would even be good for paint.

Great review Foe! I've been looking for a case to pick up for my next modding project (Arthurian theme anyone?) and this looks nearly perfect. Like FeRaL said, it's great that manufacturers are offering 120mm fan's in cases. They were hard to find a while back.

Sweet, buying the case from Foe for my girlfriends xmas present. It's goin to be a summer project to mod it and teach her to build her own media PC for college.
If anyone knows about a good tv card, we'd like to know...

Question for you Foe?

In that pic. In the area where the hdds go. How much room is there between the top plate for the hard drive cage and the outside panel. For those of us who run our cables on the backside of the system. And also. Is that top plate of that cage round as well. Would it give any problems of cutting wires if we run hdd and power cables to the hdds.

The clearance is about 1/2 inch, so I see no problem running any wiring that way. All the edges are rounded and smooth. So none of the wires or cables will be crimped or damaged.
