Default Wintsch Labs Arctic Web w-437W TEC

lcpiper has a new review up on THE ULTIMATE TEC waterblock on the market today. We are talking phase change level cooling here. The Arctic Web block requires some serious cooling to reach it's full potential, though.

Check it out here.

I love this thing everytime I see a review for one of their products, it is always a pleasure to read such a good review of them as well. These things are monsters but if you consider the work that goes into the peltier system along with the price of the components minus the block and peltier itself then you realize just how cheap this block is! for the performance that it offers you can take cooling well past just water alone. I'd say this is the big jump in cooling technology....by big jump I mean this is the other side of the canyon, you have air and water cooling on one side (because there is not that great a difference between their temps) and you have phase and peltier on the other. The difference between water and air VS. peltier and air is massive. Enough said.

If you were to compair CPU cooling to Street Rods, TEC cooling would be the equivelent of a supercharger, where Phase Change would be direct port injection and turbo-chargers.

Yes, the NB and GPU are on a completely independant watercooling system with one exception, power for all fans and this seperate water cooling system come from an old ATX PSU.

Push one button and the secondary cooling system starts up along with the fans on the primary radiators.

Push the power switch for the computer system and the Meanwells power up the TEC and the system boots.

They are Meanwell S320-12 PSUs

25A max in Series.

The TEC has a UMax of 32.8 Amps, so more current then the PSUs can supply. At that point, the PSUs heat up dropping the voltage they can supply as well, and reducing the TEC effectiveness.

I guess TEC's are good if you already have a wc system as it would work out more expensive to get a water cooling system and the equipment for one of these than buying a very good phase change system.
